- 8 c. apple sauce
- 6Â 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. apple cider vinegar
- 2/3 c. cinnamon (Red Hots) candies

- Mix ingredients and bring to a boil. Cook for 20 min, stirring constantly. Wash jars; heat jars in oven. Fill with apple butter and seal.
- Comments: It congeals if you cook it long sufficient, and you can just slice it. Because this apple butter gets warm and there is 20 min of continuous stirring time, I recommend wearing gloves when making this recipe. I have a thick pair of men's socks, with the toes cut out, that I put on my arms for extra protection because this apple butter does a lot of popping.
