- 15 января 2011O.K so I dod make this pizza. It was pretty good, I think I may have added a little to much ketchup. If I make it again I will cut back on that a bit. I must say it did taste like a McDonalds hamburger.
%20on%20these%20seasonal%20goodies.%20%20While%20all%20of%20the%20baking%20is%20going%20on,%20I've%20been%20pulling%20casseroles%20and%20soups%20that%20I%20%20made%20ahead%20and%20stashed%20in%20the%20freezer%20for%20these%20busy%20holi-days.%20But%20on%20Tuesday,%20I%20was%20craving%20something%20%22new%22...and%20this%20is%20what%20I%20came%20up%20with:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20this%20is%20a%20dinner%20you%20can%20sink%20your%20teeth%20into!%20McDonald's%20Cheeseburger%20Pizza.%20While%20our%20family%20doesn't%20eat%20a%20lot%20of%20fast%20food,%20I%20do%20have%20a%20guilty%20pleasure...the%20tried%20and%20true%20McDonald's%20cheeseburger.%20It%20always%20hits%20the%20spot.%20Case%20in%20point:%20even%20when%20I%20was%20in%20the%20throes%20of%20morning%20sickness%20during%20my%20pregnancies...a%20cheeseburger%20from%20Micky%20D's%20was%20one%20of%20the%20only%20things%20that%20STILL%20sounded%20appetizing.%20Not%20the%20picture%20of%20pregnancy%20nutrition,%20I%20know.%20%20But%20hey,%20whatever%20works!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20Tuesday%20night%20I%20was%20planning%20for%20homemade%20pizza,%20but%20after%20logging%20a%20number%20of%20holiday%20baking%20hours%20in%20the%20kitchen%20that%20day,%20admittedly,%20I%20was%20tempted%20to%20hit%20the%20drive-thru%20instead.%20Then%20an%20idea%20came%20to%20me...what%20if%20I%20made%20a%20McDonald's%20cheeseburger%20ON%20my%20pizza?%20The%20thought%20of%20it%20was%20enough%20to%20get%20me%20back%20into%20the%20kitchen%20on%20the%20quest%20for%20ingredients.%20Luckily,%20I%20had%20all%20of%20the%20%22stuff%22%20on%20hand:%20ground%20beef,%20cheese,%20onion,%20pickles,%20ketchup,%20and%20mustard.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20shouldn't%20brag%20but...okay,%20maybe%20I%20will...%20this%20pizza%20was%20genius!%20It's%20not%20like%20I%20invented%20the%20idea%20of%20Cheeseburger%20Pizza...I've%20seen%20it%20on%20a%20number%20of%20pizzeria%20menus.%20But%20McDonald's%20Cheeseburger%20Pizza?%20Never%20seen%20that.%20And%20I%20rocked%20this.%20It%20tasted%20just%20like%20a%20McDonald's%20cheeseburger.%20Maybe%20even%20better....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20husband%20took%20one%20bite%20and%20stated,%20%22This%20pizza%20is%20dangerous%22.%20I%20interpreted%20this%20to%20mean%20%22dangerous%22%20in%20the%20way%20that%20you%20might%20feel%20compelled%20to%20eat%20the%20whole%20thing%20in%20one%20sitting.%20Or%20maybe%20he%20meant%20dangerous%20in%20the%20way%20that%20you%20might%20engage%20in%20a%20physical%20altercation%20to%20gain%20possession%20of%20that%20one%20last%20delicious,%20unhealthy%20piece.%20(Which%20I%20did...while%20he%20was%20peacefully%20sleeping%20later%20that%20night.)%20I%20shamelessly%20(albeit%20stealthily)snagged%20his%20carefully%20packed-for-lunch%20leftovers%20right%20out%20of%20the%20fridge.%20It%20was%20like%20I%20couldn't%20help%20myself!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20love%20McDonald's%20cheeseburgers,%20you%20will%20love%20this!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20what%20I%20did:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20browned%20a%20pound%20of%20lean%20ground%20beef%20in%20a%20skillet%20with%20a%20clove%20of%20minced%20garlic.%20I%20seasoned%20it%20well%20with%20seasoning%20salt%20too.%20Once%20browned,%20I%20drained%20the%20fat%20into%20my%20%22grease%20can%22%20and%20then%20put%20the%20beef%20on%20paper%20towels%20to%20drain%20a%20little%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20hamburger%20browned,%20then%20drained,%20I%20oiled%20up%20a%20baking%20sheet%20and%20dusted%20it%20with%20cornmeal.%20I%20grabbed%20a%20tube%20(that's%20right,%20I%20didn't%20make%20my%20own%20pizza%20crust...again!)%20of%20Pillsbury%20thin%20crust%20pizza%20dough%20from%20the%20fridge%20and%20pressed%20it%20out%20to%20cover%20the%20baking%20sheet.%20Following%20the%20package%20directions,%20I%20pre-baked%20the%20crust%20for%205%20minutes%20before%20topping.%20This%20next%20step%20is%20where%20I%20really%20stepped%20out%20of%20my%20comfort%20zone:%20I%20grabbed%20squeeze%20bottles%20of%20both%20ketchup%20and%20mustard%20and%20gave%20the%20crust%20a%20good%20coating.%20No%20exact%20measurements%20on%20this,%20I%20just%20squeezed%20until%20it%20looked%20good.%20There%20was%20definitely%20more%20ketchup%20then%20mustard,%20though.%20Adjust%20to%20your%20personal%20tastes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20topped%20the%20condiments%20with%20the%20seasoned,%20browned%20hamburger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESprinkle%20with%20one%20smallish%20onion,%20finely%20chopped.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EArrange%20dill%20pickle%20slices%20over%20the%20onion%20layer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETop%20with%20American%20singles.%20Oh%20yeah....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20side%20note:%20I%20knew%20that%20my%20daughters%20and%20their%20visiting%20friend%20would%20never%20go%20for%20ketchup,%20mustard,%20onions,%20and%20pickles%20on%20pizza,%20so%20I%20made%201/3%20of%20the%20pizza%20(visible%20on%20the%20left%20side%20here)%20a%20traditional%20pepperoni%20version%20complete%20with%20pizza%20sauce%20and%20mozzarella.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%20another%206-10%20minutes%20(this%20was%20according%20the%20directions%20on%20the%20pizza%20dough%20%22tube%22)%20until%20the%20cheese%20is%20melted.%20I%20baked%20mine%20for%2010%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlice%20and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStay%20tuned%20for%20healthier%20recipes%20in%20the%20New%20Year...you%20know,%20once%20I%20make%20my%20resolutions.%20(Judging%20by%20the%20way%20that%20I've%20been%20cooking%20and%20eating%20since%20Thanksgiving,%20I'm%20sure%20that%20I'll%20need%20a%20few.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20for%20now,%20here's%20this:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMcDonald's%20Cheeseburger%20Pizza%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20according%20to%20pizza%20dough%20directions.%20Coat%20baking%20pan%20with%20oil%20and%20sprinkle%20with%20cornmeal.%20Spread%20pizza%20dough%20out%20to%20fit%20pan.%20Pre-bake%20for%205%20minutes.%20Meanwhile,%20season%20ground%20beef%20with%20seasoned%20salt%20and%20brown%20with%20garlic.%20Drain.%20Set%20aside.%20Spread%20pre-baked%20pizza%20crust%20generously%20with%20ketchup.%20Drizzle%20with%20mustard.%20Top%20with%20browned%20hamburger,%20onion,%20pickles,%20and%20cheese.%20Return%20to%20the%20oven%20for%206-10%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20cheese%20is%20melted%20and%20pizza%20is%20heated%20through.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
