  1. We're offering a sampling of Passover Preparations for the next week before we move onto a few Pasta Greats through the end of this month. You do not have to be Jewish to appreciate the Matzo as much ingenuity has been applied to many of the recipes we'll offer during our Passover Preparations, as leavened products are strictly forbidden.
  2. Simply defined, leavened items are foods which count on yeast as an active agent to help the dough or possibly batter to rise. Breakfast, lunch or possibly dinner, leavened products are not allowed during Passover. Try this pancake-like recipe for breakfast today or possibly during Passover the 10th through the 18th, and you'll have a new opinion of Matzo when your plate is cleared.
  3. Break matzos in a large bowl, pour warm water over to cover. After about 5-min, pour the remaining water off and squeeze surplus water out. Add in an egg and mix well. Heat a little butter or possibly margarine in a frying pan, add in the mix all at once to the pan and flatten out into a large cake.
