- butter for greasing baking sheet
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tbsp. sugar, divided use
- 5 tbsp. cool butter, cut into sm. pcs
- 1/2 c. minced macadamia nuts
- 1 c. minced pitted dates
- 1 (8 ounce.) container plain yogurt
- Optional: Strawberry butter, recipe follows

- Preliminaries: Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease a baking sheet with butter.
- Procedure: Sift flour, baking pwdr, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Add in 2 Tbsp. sugar and butter. Blend with fork, 2 knives or possibly a pastry cutter till mix resembles coarse meal. Stir in nuts and dates. Add in yogurt and combine well.
- Mound dough in the middle of prepared baking sheet. Pat dough into an 8 inch round; sprinkle with remaining 1 Tbsp. sugar. Bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 15-20 min, or possibly till it is cooked through.
- Presentation: Cut into 8 wedges. Allow wedges to cold a few min on cooling rack. Serve hot with Strawberry Butter, if you like. Yield: Makes 8 wedges.
