- 1 sm onion
- 6 x (1-oz) slices ounces American cheese
- 2 c. corkscrew or possibly elbow macaroni
- 1/2 c. nonfat lowfat milk Dash of pepper

- Place the onion on the cutting board and use the sharp knife to chop the onion into small pcs. Unwrap the cheese slices and tear them into bite-size pcs. Set aside. Cook the macaroni in the saucepan, following the package directions. When the water comes to a boil, add in the macaroni and onion so they cook together. Cook about 11 min, till the macaroni is done.
- Return the hot macaroni/onion mix to the saucepan after draining. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the cheese, lowfat milk and pepper. Put the saucepan on the burner. Turn the burner to medium heat. Cook for 4 to 5 min or possibly till cheese is melted, stirring all the time. Serve with cooked green beans, a roll with jam, a fresh pear and lowfat milk.
