- 1 package (8 oz) fresh linguine, cooked according to package directions, reserving 3/4 cup hot liquid after pasta is cooked
- 4 oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 2 generous pinches saffron threads, divided
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20totally%20prefer%20seafood%20with%20my%20Alfredo%20and%20shrimp%20is%20usually%20the%20seafood%20of%20my%20choice.%20%20I'm%20not%20sure%20if%20heating%20the%20saffron%20in%20some%20oil%20and%20then%20sauteing%20the%20shrimp%20did%20a%20whole%20lot%20-%20but%20I%20wanted%20to%20get%20a%20little%20more%20of%20the%20color%20than%20I%20would%20have%20than%20if%20I%20hadn't.%20%20This%20was%20delicious%20in%20any%20case%20and%20Grumpy%20and%20I%20both%20enjoyed%20it.%20%20However,%20I%20can%20guarantee%20that%20he%20will%20not%20want%20me%20to%20cook%20shrimp%20again%20anytime%20soon.%20%20When%20I%20posted%20about%20my%20Roasted%20Shrimp%20Tasting%20Spoons%20I%20mentioned%20he%20thinks%20I%20cook%20it%20too%20often%20(which%20is%20so%20not%20true!).%20%20He's%20running%20out%20of%20animal%20protien%20for%20me%20to%20cook!%20%20ha%20ha.%20%20Right%20now%20its%20between%20beef%20and%20chicken.%20%20He%20doesn't%20care%20to%20have%20me%20cook%20him%20pork%20chops%20anymore%20either%20-%20something%20he%20used%20to%20complain%20that%20I%20never%20cooked%20enough%20of.%20%20Maybe%20he's%20going%20to%20turn%20vegetarian%20on%20me%20soon,%20or%20maybe%20I'm%20having%20some%20wishful%20thinking!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20my%20dish%20to%20share%20with%20Presto%20Pasta%20Nights%20this%20week.%20%20Ruth%20of%20Once%20Upon%20a%20Feast%20and%20also%20the%20founder%20of%20PPN%20is%20the%20host%20for%20this%20week's%20round%20up%20which%20will%20be%20on%20Friday,%20December%202,%202011.%20%20Can%20you%20believe%20our%20year%20is%20almost%20over?!%20%20If%20you%20are%20interested%20in%20joining%20us%20this%20week,%20head%20on%20over%20to%20the%20PPN%20website%20for%20the%20guidelines%20and%20submit%20your%20post%20by%20Thursday,%20December%201,%202011%20to%20Ruth(at)4everykitchen(dot)com.%20%20This%20is%20probably%20my%20last%20PPN%20post%20until%20after%20our%20vacation.%20%20I%20have%20less%20than%20two%20weeks%20left%20and%20time%20crunch%20is%20starting%20to%20hit%20big%20time,%20but%20I%20will%20be%20back%20joining%20in%20again%20once%20we%20return!%20%20In%20the%20meantime,%20check%20out%20Ruth's%20page%20on%20Friday%20for%20all%20of%20this%20weeks%20posts,%20and%20check%20out%20the%20PPN%20site%20for%20all%20previous%20links%20for%20some%20great%20pasta%20ideas!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELinguine%20with%20Shrimp%20in%20Saffron%20Cream%20Sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECook%20pasta%20according%20to%20package%20directions.%20%20Reserve%203/4%20cup%20hot%20pasta%20liquid%20and%20stir%20in%20a%20generous%20pinch%20of%20saffron%20threads.%20%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%201%20tablespoon%20olive%20oilt%20to%20medium%20skillet%20and%20heat%20medium%20high.%20%20Drop%20in%20a%20generous%20pinch%20of%20saffron%20and%20cook%20for%20a%20minute.%20%20Add%20shrimp%20seasoned%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20and%20cook%203-4%20minutes%20or%20until%20shrimp%20has%20just%20turned%20pink.%20%20Toss%20with%201%20large%20clove%20minced%20garlic.%20%20Remove%20from%20heat%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20another%20saucepan%20(sorry,%20this%20dirties%203%20dishes,%20but%20its%20well%20worth%20it!)%20heat%20butter%20and%20cream%20cheese,%20whisking%20until%20smooth.%20%20Add%20the%20saffron%20infused%20pasta%20liquid%20along%20with%201/2%20cup%20heavy%20cream%20and%20whisk%20to%20combine.%20%20Simmer%20on%20low%202-3%20minutes.%20%20Transfer%20sauce%20to%20frying%20pan%20the%20shrimp%20is%20in%20and%20return%20to%20heat.%20%20Bring%20back%20to%20a%20simmer%20and%20scrape%20all%20the%20yummy%20deliciousness%20from%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20frying%20pan%20-%20and%20stir%20until%20blended.%20%20Toss%20with%20linguine,%20serve%20with%20chopped%20chives%20as%20a%20garnish.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
