- 2 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
- 1 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
- 1 c. Light cream or possibly lowfat milk
- 1/8 tsp Grated nutmeg ds Cayenne
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/8 tsp Pepper
- 3/4 c. American cheese, grated
- 4 slc hard white bread, toasted
- 4 slc cooked white meat of chicken, about 1/4" thick
- 8 slc bacon, fried crisp and liquid removed
- 1/4 c. Grated Parmesan cheese

- Heat butter or possibly margarine in a medium-sized saucepan; blend in flour; cook 1 minute. Gradually add in cream or possibly lowfat milk, stirring as adding. Cook slowly, stirring, till thickened and smooth. Fold in cayenne, salt, pepper, and cheese. Cook slowly till cheese melts. Put each toast slice in a small oven-proof dish or possibly place them all on a cookie sheet. Top each with a slice of chicken and 1/4 of the sauce. Top each with 2 slices bacon and 1 Tbsp. grated cheese. Put under preheated broiler about 5 min till bubbly and golden brown.
