This is adapted from a recipe on the back of a bottle of Heinz 57 sauce. The original called for the sauce and honey only. I decided to jazz it up a bit by adding some more ingredients. Hence the name Heinz 59 Sauce. The result works as a different sauce/glaze for almost any kind of protein. I used it on smoked chicken thighs as a glaze at the end of grilling. It is very quick to make and stores well refrigerated in a squeeze bottle.

Growing up in very small Nebraska farm town famous for great beef cattle; Heinz 57 was the sauce you always found in the small family owned restaurants in town. Heinz 57 sauce, Tabasco sauce and Heinz Ketchup were the go to sauces coupled with a grain fed Angus beefsteak from the local cattle ranchers. Looking back now makes me wonder why anyone would smother such great beef with sauce. Go figure!
