  1. If desired to prepare your own yeast breads, here's a hearty bread adapted from Chef Tom Ney, director of Prevention Magazine's Food Center.
  2. In large bowl, dissolve yeast in 2 Tbsp. of hot water. Set aside till bubbly, about 5 min.
  3. Fold in honey, oil, salt and remaining 11/4 c. hot water. Add in grnd flax, whole-wheat flour and 1 c. of bread flour. Mix well.
  4. Stir in sufficient of remaining bread flour to make a soft dough. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 min, or possibly till smooth and elastic. Shape into a loaf and place in 9-by-5-inch loaf pan which has been coated with non-stick spray.
  5. Cover and let rise in a hot place till doubled in bulk, about 1 hour. Bake in 350-degree oven for 40 to 50 min, or possibly till loaf is browned and sounds hollow when tapped. Remove from pan and cold on a wire rack.
  6. Makes 1 loaf (12 to 16 slices).
