- 1 loaf French or possibly Italian bread
- 1/4 pound butter
- 2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 med. onion (minced fine)
- 2 tbsp. poppy seeds
- 2 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. Monterey Jack cheese (cubed)
Инструкции
- Combine last five ingredients in saucepan and simmer till onions are soft. (Monterey Jack cheese can be omitted. Don't put in saucepan with butter.) Slice bread into one inch thick slices. Spoon butter mix onto each slice and add in cheese if you like. Wrap in foil and leave top exposed. Can be done early in the day, if you chill. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 min.
