- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 teaspoon soda dissolved in 1/2 c. cool water
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- (No Large eggs! !)

- Sift flour with spices, then add in remaining ingredients. Roll out 1/2 inch thick, cut out. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 min.
