The theme of this weekend was absolute and total indulgence. Which, yes, isn’t healthy if you do it all the time – but once in a while (in moderation) is 100% ok. The husband and I went out to dinner on Saturday night and Sunday night – for two amazing meals with my dad and my brother. When we got home on Sunday, we were both craving something sweet – so we decided to make brownies. This was a team effort – the husband helped me in the kitchen so the brownies would get done faster!

%20is%20100%25%20ok.%20The%20husband%20and%20I%20went%20out%20to%20dinner%20on%20Saturday%20night%20and%20Sunday%20night%20%E2%80%93%20for%20two%20amazing%20meals%20with%20my%20dad%20and%20my%20brother.%20When%20we%20got%20home%20on%20Sunday,%20we%20were%20both%20craving%20something%20sweet%20%E2%80%93%20so%20we%20decided%20to%20make%20brownies.%20This%20was%20a%20team%20effort%20%E2%80%93%20the%20husband%20helped%20me%20in%20the%20kitchen%20so%20the%20brownies%20would%20get%20done%20faster!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20generally,%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20a%20fan%20of%20boxed%20brownies%20%E2%80%93%20they%20never%20compare%20to%20what%20you%E2%80%99d%20get%20at%20a%20bakery%20or%20what%20you%20can%20make%20from%20scratch.%20And%20sometimes%20they%20end%20up%20tasting%20really%20dry%20and%20processed.%20But%20trust%20me%20when%20I%20say%20that%20these%20brownies%20(made%20from%20a%20box%20mix)%20are%20the%20real%20deal.%20You%20would%20never%20guess%20that%20they%20are%20%E2%80%9Cboxed%20brownies%E2%80%9D!%20And%20it%E2%80%99s%20all%20thanks%20to%20The%20Fat%20Witch%20Bakery%20at%20Chelsea%20Market%20in%20New%20York.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20are%20seriously%20the%20best%20boxed%20brownies%20I%E2%80%99ve%20ever%20had.%20My%20husband%20and%20I%20love%20this%20mix%20%E2%80%93%20the%20brownies%20turn%20out%20super%20moist,%20dense,%20and%20just%20melt%20in%20your%20mouth.%20You%20can%20add%20fun%20mix-ins%20too%20%E2%80%93%20like%20nuts%20or%20extra%20chocolate%20chips%20%E2%80%93%20pretty%20much%20anything%20you%20want!%20The%20other%20great%20thing%20is%20none%20of%20the%20ingredients%20are%20weird%20or%20sound%20like%20chemicals%20in%20this%20mix%20%E2%80%93%20everything%20in%20the%20mix%20is%20something%20you%E2%80%99d%20probably%20find%20in%20your%20own%20kitchen.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20the%20brownies,%20you%20need:%201%20box%20of%20mix,%201%20stick%20of%20butter%20(7%20Tbsp),%203%20eggs,%20walnuts%20(or%20other%20mix-ins),%20cooking%20spray%20to%20grease%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%201:%20Preheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20and%20grease%20baking%20pan%20(8%C3%978%20is%20what%20we%20used).%20Empty%20bag%20of%20chocolate%20chips%20(this%20comes%20with%20the%20mix)%20into%20a%20sauce%20pan%20and%20add%20butter.%20Melt%20over%20low%20heat%20over%20the%20stove%20top%20(or%20microwave),%20stirring%20constantly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%202:%20Once%20the%20chocolate%20has%20melted,%20set%20aside%20to%20cool%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%203:%20Pour%20contents%20of%20dry%20ingredients%20(from%20mix)%20into%20a%20medium%20sized%20bowl.%20Add%203%20eggs%20and%20mix%20until%20smooth.%20It%20kind%20of%20reminded%20the%20husband%20of%20vanilla%20pudding%20when%20it%20was%20done.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20tended%20to%20agree%20with%20him,%20don%E2%80%99t%20you?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%204:%20Combine%20the%20chocolate%20with%20the%20eggs/dry%20mix.%20If%20you%20want%20to%20add%20in%20any%20other%20fun%20ingredients%20%E2%80%93%20do%20it%20now!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20decided%20to%20add%20in%20chopped%20walnuts%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%205:%20Pour%20the%20batter%20into%20your%20greased%208%C3%978%20pan%20and%20bake%2030-35%20min%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20into%20the%20middle%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Let%20cool%20and%20cut%20into%20squares.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20is%20the%20batter,%20ready%20to%20bake%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20the%20brownies%20are%20done!%20They%20looked%20so%20good,%20it%20was%20so%20hard%20to%20wait%20for%20them%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20a%20land%20of%20chocolate%E2%80%A6%20Once%20we%20cut%20the%20brownies,%20I%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20stop%20taking%20pictures%20of%20them.%20I%20plated%20two%20for%20my%20husband%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20then%20made%20him%20wait%20while%20I%20took%20another%20picture%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20he%20finally%20got%20to%20eat.%20He%20was%20happy%20%20This%20is%20seriously%20the%20best%20brownie%20mix%20in%20the%20world%20%E2%80%93%20and%20while%20you%20can%E2%80%99t%20beat%20making%20brownies%20from%20scratch,%20these%20come%20in%20at%20a%20close%20second!%20I%E2%80%99d%20love%20to%20hear%20what%20more%20experienced%20bakers%20think%20about%20this%20mix%20%E2%80%93%20try%20it%20and%20let%20me%20know.%20In%20the%20meantime,%20I%20think%20I%E2%80%99ll%20enjoy%20the%20brownies%20today%20as%20a%20pre-dinner%20snack.%20They%E2%80%99re%20just%20too%20good%20to%20leave%20on%20the%20counter!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebaking,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDessert,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esnacks,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVegetarian%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
