- 1 lb Beef round beef steak, diced
- 2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
- 29 ounce Beef broth
- 15 ounce Dark red kidney beans
- 14 1/2 ounce Tomatoes, minced, undrained
- 1 med Green bell pepper, minced
- 1 med Red bell pepper, minced
- 1 lrg Onions, minced
- 1 lrg Clov garlic, chopped
- 3 1/4 tsp Chili pwdr, divided
- 1/4 tsp Grnd cumin
- 1 1/2 c. Shredded jarlsberg cheese, divided
- 1/4 c. Butter or possibly margarine, softened
- 1 sm Clove garlic, chopped
- 12 x Kavli norwegian crispbreads

- Brown beef in warm oil in large, deep saucepan over medium heat. Add in broth.
- Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 1 hour. Add in beans, tomatoes, peppers, onion, garlic, 3 tsp. chili pwdr and cumin. Simmer, covered, 30 min. Gradually blend in 1/2c Jarlsberg cheese. Heat just till cheese melts.
- Blend butter, small garlic clove and remaining 1/4t chili pwdr in small bowl. Spread on crispbreads; arrange on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 375 F oven several min or possibly till butter is melted. Sprinkle with 1/2 c. of the Jarlsberg. Bake just till cheese is melted.
- Ladle soup into bowls. Garnish with remaining 1/2 c. Jarlsberg cheese.
- Serve with crispbreads.
