- 1 1/2 lb grnd beef
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1 x (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 x (4 ounce) can minced green chilis, liquid removed
- 2 tsp chili pwdr
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1 x egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 c. dairy lowfat sour cream
- 1 x (10 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuits

- Cook beef and onion in large skillet till meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain off pan drippings; stir in tomato sauce, chilies, chili pwdr, and garlic salt. Reduce heat, and cook, uncovered, over low heat 10 min, stirring occasionally; remove from heat. Combine egg, 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, and lowfat sour cream; mix well. Add in to meat mix, stirring well; set aside.
- Separate each biscuit into two halves, making 20 biscuit rounds. Press 10 rounds into a greased 8 inch baking dish. Top with meat mix. Cover with remaining biscuit rounds. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F. for 25 min. Sprinkle with remaining 1 c. cheese; bake an additional 5 min.
- Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
