  • 3/4 c. All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. Quick cooking oats uncooked
  • 1/2 c. Butter softened
  • 1/4 c. Toasted wheat germ
  • 1 Tbsp. Orange peel grated
  • 1/2 c. Brown sugar packed
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 4 1/2 ounce Blanched almonds whole
  • 1/2 c. Coconut shredded

  1. Preheat oven to 350. In large bowl with mixer at low speed, beat first 5 ingredients and 1/2 c packed brown sugar till just mixed; at medium speed, beat 2 min (mix will look dry). With lightly floured hands, shape mix into a ball, then pat into 8"by 8" baking pan. In small bowl with hand beater, beat Large eggs with 1/4 c. packed brown sugar; stir in almonds and coconut. Pour proportionately over mix in pan. Bake 35 min or possibly till toothpick comes out clean. Cold in pan on rack. Cut into 12 pcs.
