- 2Â eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. oil
- 3/4 c. honey
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp cloves
- 2 tbsp cocoa
- 1 c. self rising flour
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp mixed spices
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon

- Preheat oven to 375°F. (190°C.) For convection oven, preheat to 350°F. (180°C.)Mix large eggs with sugar.
- Add in remaining ingredients in the following order: oil, honey, soda, cloves, cocoa and flour.
- Lastly, add in boiling water.
- Bake for 1 to 1-1/4 hrs.
- After about 1/2 hour, lower heat to 350°F. (180°C.)
- For last 10 to 15 min, lower heat to 325°F. (300°F. if using a convection).
- Cooks Note: It is a wonderfully aromatic and deliciously moist cake, and keeps very well stored in an air-tight cake tin.
