- 1/3 cup brown sugar

- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (I leave this out but feel free to include it)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground or freshly grated nutmeg
- 3/4 cup hot black coffee
- 1 – 10inch springform pan
