I've been keeping something under wraps, debating whether to show you now and run the risk of ruining the surprise for who this is for, or wait and show you after Christmas...I decided you needed to see it now, just in case you want to make one for someone special in your life - or yourself!! There's still time! The 12 Days of Christmas do not begin until Christmas day!!! And you won't need a partridge or a pear tree or 5 gold rings or 6 geese-a-layin'...unless you really want them and you can find them and they can fit in this:

%20and%20they%20are%20all%20wrapped%20around%20the%20sliding%20sleeve%20so%20they%20can%20be%20reused%20year%20after%20year%20-%20making%20this%20gift%20more%20than%20a%20gift...it%20will%20be%20a%20tradition!%20%20You%20could%20use%20any%20box,%20really,%20but%20match%20boxes%20are%20the%20perfect%20size,%20not%20too%20big%20and%20not%20too%20small...I%20was%20amazed%20at%20what%20I%20could%20fit%20in%20a%20standard%20size%20match%20box!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere's%20what%20I%20put%20in%20my%2012%20boxes:%20%20A%20clip%20on%20OTT%20Lite,%20See's%20Chocolate%20balls,%201/2%20yard%20of%20cream%20colored%20fabric,%202%20Moda%20mini-packs,%201/2%20yard%20of%20Christmas%20fabric,%20bottle%20of%20hand-sanitizer,%20Christmas%20ornament%20salt%20and%20pepper%20shakers,%20quilting%20pen%20and%20quilting%20note-pad,%20gift%20certificate%20to%20quilt%20shop,%202%20Christmasy%20votive%20candles,%20package%20of%20mini-notecards%20and%20last%20but%20not%20least,%20vintage%20buttons!%20%20Obviously%20my%20gift%20is%20for%20someone%20who%20quilts,%20but%20think%20how%20fun%20this%20would%20be%20to%20do%20for%20kids?%20%20Little%20Match-Box%20cars,%20candy,%20puzzles,%20and%20on%20and%20on...12%20days%20of%20fun!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20bag%20is%20made%20from%20a%20Christmas%20kitchen%20towel%20I%20found%20at%20Fireworks.%20%20It%20was%20perfect!%20%20The%20picture%20was%20stamped%20on,%20but%20the%20%22x's%22%20were%20hand-done%20and%20it%20came%20that%20way!%20%20I%20added%20the%20%2212%20Days%20of%20Christmas%22%20embroidery.%20%20I%20sewed%20the%20towel%20to%20fabric%20to%20make%20the%20bag,%20%20added%20a%20casing,%20trims%20and%20sewed%20bells%20on%20the%20ribbon%20ties.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20bag%20measures%2016%20x%2022-inches%20-%20just%20the%20perfect%20size%20to%20hold%20the%2012%20pretty%20boxes!%20%20I%20purchased%20the%20match%20boxes%20at%20Ace%20Hardware,%20they%20were%20$1.50%20each.%20%20And%20then...what%20to%20do%20with%20all%20of%20those%20matches?!?!%20%20I%20didn't%20want%20to%20store%20them%20-%20talk%20about%20a%20fire%20hazard!%20%20So%20I%20gave%20them%20to%20the%20mister%20and%20asked%20him%20to%20take%20care%20of%20it...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20mister%20sat%20by%20the%20fire%20and%20threw%20in%20handfuls%20of%20matches%20-%20I%20had%20no%20idea%20he%20was%20such%20a%20pyromaniac!%20%20He%20quite%20enjoyed%20himself.%20%20If%20I'd%20known%20how%20much%20fun%20he%20would%20have%20I%20would%20have%20wrapped%20them%20up%20as%20his%20Christmas%20gift.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20bag%20was%20finished%20and%20loaded%20with%20the%20gifts,%20I%20decided%20it%20needed%20a%20loop%20so%20it%20could%20be%20hung%20up...so%20I%20emptied%20out%20the%20boxes%20and%20went%20back%20to%20the%20sewing%20machine!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20tops%20the%20list%20of%20things%20I've%20made%20-%20I%20just%20love%20how%20it%20turned%20out%20-%20and%20I%20really,%20really%20hope%20the%20recipient%20does,%20too!%20I'm%20going%20to%20make%20one%20for%20myself%20-%20and%20let%20me%20show%20you%20the%20bag%20I'm%20going%20to%20use,%20it's%20what%20started%20all%20of%20this...I%20was%20in%20an%20antique%20shop%20and%20found%20this%20vintage%20flour%20sack...I%20had%20to%20have%20it!%20%20Once%20home%20I%20kept%20thinking%20about%20what%20I%20could%20do%20with%20it...make%20a%20pillow,%20frame%20it,%20use%20it%20in%20a%20quilt...but%20I%20really%20didn't%20want%20to%20cut%20into%20it...and%20I%20kept%20thinking%20about%20what%20a%20cute%20little%20%22Santa%20bag%22%20it%20would%20be...then%20the%20light%20bulb%20went%20off!%20%20I'm%20going%20to%20use%20the%20mini-match%20boxes%20in%20my%20bag,%20because%20the%20flour%20sack%20only%20measures%209%20x%2018-inches.%20%20The%20only%20down%20side%20of%20using%20the%20mini%20boxes%20is%20the%20size,%20I%20will%20be%20limited%20as%20to%20what%20I%20can%20put%20in%20them...but%20as%20we%20all%20know,%20good%20things%20come%20in%20small%20packages!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt's%20a%20perfect%20little%20sack,%20no?%20%20I'm%20going%20to%20add%20some%20trim%20and%20get%20it%20all%20spiffed%20up!%20%20Since%20my%2012%20Days%20of%20Christmas%20bag%20will%20be%20used%20with%20family/grandkids,%20I'm%20going%20to%20add%20numbers%20to%20the%20packages,%20so%20they%20will%20have%20to%20look%20for%20the%20right%20number%20each%20day...just%20a%20little%20more%20suspense!%20%20I'm%20all%20about%20making%20Christmas%20last%20as%20long%20as%20possible...or%20as%20long%20as%20this%20post!%20%20One%20last%20look%20before%20I%20wrap%20it%20all%20up%20and%20send%20it%20off...it's%20a%20very%20fun%20gift%20to%20make%20and%20to%20give...it%20lasts%20for%2012%20days!!!%20%20You%20just%20can't%20beat%20that!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUpdate:%20%20This%20gift%20was%20for%20my%20quilt%20group's%20annual%20Christmas%20gift%20exchange%20-%20and%20Marsha%20went%20home%20with%20it!%20%20She%20was%20very%20happy%20and%20Marsha%20didn't%20open%20any%20of%20the%20gifts%20inside%20the%20bag%20until%20she%20got%20home!%20%20Since%20the%20gifts%20were%20meant%20for%20a%20quilter,%20she%20opened%20them%20and%20is%20going%20to%20replace%20them%20with%20gifts%20for%20her%20grandkids...just%20another%20way%20to%20entice%20them%20to%20come%20and%20visit%20her%20after%20Christmas!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20came%20home%20with%20the%20most%20wonderful%20felted%20bag%20-%20I%20love%20it!%20%20Pictures%20of%20it%20and%20the%20other%20gifts%20that%20were%20exchanged%20will%20be%20coming%20soon.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
