Livin' La Vida "LoCho"!
I don't think I'm crazy, but sometimes it drives me a little loco trying to find tasty low-cholesterol recipes that are worth eating--and preparing.
We may not be able to completely avoid having to take that cholesterol pill, but we can certainly try to lower our numbers naturally, through developing healthful eating habits. My husband WAS able to completely avoid that additional pill with diet and exercise, so it's a daily challenge for me to satisfy his appetite, while he strives to maintain that edge. We love to cook and experiment, and we have a young son; for these reasons, cooking low-cholesterol meals is one of the biggest challenges coloring my approach to meal planning.
I need help doing this, and I'm hoping you'll join the bandwagon. As "easy" as it is to browse the web for recipes, I find myself wishing I could just pick one out a little more quickly that I know will be healthful and delicious because someone else has recommended it.
Let's develop healthful eating habits together by sharing TASTY recipes that are mindful of and attempt to avoid high cholesterol ingredients.
This may sound radical, but let's err on the side of higher cholesterol counts rather than skimp on flavor. The hope is that we can get the most SATISFACTION out of our recipes without feeling we've been shorted on flavor. Maybe then, we can achieve our goal to maintain a stable diet and good nutrition, and enjoy our meals at the same time.
What do you say? I'm not a nutritionist, but nutritionists and any cholesterol brainiacs are most welcome to join and SHARE. In addition, I'd love to hear from vegetarians and hear about some of their smashing-good recipes.
