I enjoy taveling, camping, fishing, boating, decorative painting, arts & crafts, going to the movies, trying new restaurants, entertaining and hanging out at home with family and friends.

When the family got together we all cooked...men outside and woman inside. If you hung out in the kitchen long enough the mom's would give you little jobs to do...peeling veggies is where we all got out first jobs. But you got rewarded with a slice of bread with some homemade tomato sauce top. That's all it took. Being proud you would leave the kitchen and all the rest of the kids would be dashing to the kitchen to do some peeling and get their slice of bread. Next trip would be outside...make sure you bring a beer to the cook at the grill and you could get a "hot" dog...no bread. You would be bouncing the hot dog back and forth in you hands to cool off and it was the best. After all that if you wanted a drink don't go in the house, the parents would only yell, "Go get a drink from the hose." Ah, Good Times!
In the fourth grade I became a "Latch Key Kid". Mom would leave a note on the counter giving directions on what time and how to prepare dinner. Mom would give everything a final taste test; mom would give me a taste before she made the spice adjustments and again afterwards so I could learn to do this on my own. Mom was a wonderful and a great teacher in the kitchen. You could hear moms love for cooking; the minute mom began creating something she would start singing. She taught me that the kitchen was not a place to be viewed as a chore but a place to open your heart and enjoy what you are doing.
