My husband and I owned a small 'Donut Shop' and grill in a small town. My husband is the baker in the family. We served doughnuts and baked goods, hot wings, ribs, grilled sandwiches and homemade soups. I am quite partial to eating good food. I don't really know if I would call myself advanced but I'm definitely not intermediate. What I cook most people enjoy and I'm confident enough to not be a slave to a recipe. A little more of this,a little less of that, and what if I replace this with that...

Finances, time and necessity have influenced my cooking the most. I needed to serve food that was inexpensive to prepare and didn't consume alot of my time. It had to taste good enough that my children would be willing to eat it and Customers would be willing to pay to eat it. Cook books, magazines and cooking shows have been a God send. I am guilty of tweaking most recipes so they meet my taste and needs.
