As the youngest of seven children I was raised humbly on recipes that fed for the masses--a lot of ground beef! However, I have been fascinated by food from a very early age. I bought cookbooks and kitchen gadgets as a teenager. I have started three gourmet clubs in the three places my husband and I have lived: Irvine, CA; New York City, & Frisco, TX. They are are still going!
I love to hunt the web for new recipes and try them out on my husband and three kids. I have been a member of Epicurious.com for over 10 years. It has been my 'go-to' site for dependable recipes. Most of the cooks that review those recipes are usually pretty advanced. Allrecipes.com is a nuisance. A lot of the posted recipes are awful (Paula Deen-types). The recipe reviews are usually by people that didn't actually make the recipe. COOKEATSHARE.com is great. I feel like I am home amongst many like-minded cooks.

Well, I am first and foremost an unpretentious Texan who loves to cook for a crowd. I am drawn to gourmet comfort food or comfort food with a twist! I feel like Ina Garten really gets this right. Cindy Pawlcyn of Mustards Grill is the master of this concept. I like Bobby Flay. I love Cooks Illustrated.
I also have an enormous sweet tooth and I am a bakery addict. I like a lot of the recipes in Magnolia and Williams-Sonoma. Martha Stewart does baked goods pretty well, too.
