At 63 and a double retiree, just beginning to explore cooking, something I've always enjoyed doing. With both parents working, I learned to cook early in life to help out after school with my younger siblings. Even as grew older and it was no longer necessary, I loved watching my mom, in the kitchen, asking questions and trying to learn all of her little tricks. Did most of the cooking in the house when I was married, but seldom ventured a way from the standard home fare that I learned from mom.

My mom, and my dad to a lesser degree have been the greatest influences. I love the Foot Network. Since my move to the south, I've become a BBQ judge and have picked up lots of little tips from various competitions.
