JoannE. grew up in a small town in North-Western-Central-Pennsylvania, in a family focused on food and full of food allergies. She holds a bachelor’s degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management and received a Culinary Arts Degree with highest honors from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City. Since graduating from ICE, joannE. has worked in the field as a culinary consultant specializing in recipe development, testing and allergen free cooking. In addition to working with Pi, joannE. continues to consult and offers in-home cooking workshops and catering services. She is a member of the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance. Ongoing projects include working on a follow-up wild game cookbook and seeking out Manhattan's best martini.
