I am not a professional cook, just an advanced cook because of my age and years of experience. I am seventy two years old, a retired nurse, love to read, paint, quilt, knit, crotchet, fish, work in the yard, garden and cook. I am also a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, a role I enjoy so very much.
I was born and raised in Ga but left when I graduated from high school. Have lived in thirty eight states and three foreign countries but am still a Southern Girl at heart and I believe Southern Cooking is the best.
My husband retired eleven years ago, he owned his own company where he manufactured and sold small and large steel buildings. While nursing part time I also worked for him part time managing the office and sales manager and wasalso very active in our church and our community. But my favorite and most rewarding job has always been being a mom, wife and grandmother which to me is the most fulfilling job a woman can have.
When he retired we moved from South Texas to his home state of Oklahoma, bought thirty acres in the beautiful Osage Hill's where he built our home. We have a hobby farm where we raise Quality Boer Goats and Registered Dexter Cattle, have a flock of fifteen free range chickens, a garden, a few fruit and pecan trees, barn cats, two Great Pyrenees guard dogs, two small house dogs, guineas and lots of wildlife to enjoy.
We have home Bible Studies three nights a week.We have been doing home bible study groups for twenty five years, and are so blessed to see the desire in peoples heart to know the truth of Gods Word. I love to cook and try new recipes and am blessed tht my family has always enjoyed my cooking and trying new recipes and so does the people that come to our home Bible Study classes.
We love our retired life on the farm, especially all our animals, we love our Lord Jesus Christ, we love each other and our family which consist of two girls and two boys, two daughter in laws and two son in laws, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and one of our greatest joys in our life is having them visit us at the farm.
I just saw your blog for the first time tonight and I love it with all your recipes, tips, etc and truly appreciate you taking the time to share it with all of us. I plan to spend time after the holidays learning how to use it and trying out many different recipes.

My mom taught me at a young age the love of being in the kitchen with her. When I got married I was given a Better Homes and Garden cookbook and that was when my love for cooking began.
