Wow ~ I have been kinda busy! I have been canning things ... I took a recipe for Green Tomato Relish and turned it into a Tomatillo Relish ... when I get everything perfected I will post the recipe. So far, my sample audience says it is a great balance between sweet & sour .... so with that in mind am planning on adding some heat to it for my hubby and his personal preferences.
Took on the family responsibility of CANNING Mince Meat for my Father-in-Law, he is 91 and has missed his Mince Meat Pies around the holidays ... so our Christmas Present to him this year is multiple quart jars of HIS mince meat recipe.

My biggest cooking influences were my Grandmothers ... both of those ladies knew which end was up in the kitchen. Even though my Grandma went a little off the beam at times (one Easter Sunday, she used food color in EVERYTHING ~ pink gravy is difficult to consume or so I have been told) she was more of a savory cook while my Mom-Maw was a sweet expert! Both of those ladies passed on the "cooking" gene to my Daddy and Mom and I got it from them! My husband says that I can make ANYTHING taste good ... he hates canned tuna (calls it cat food) said that I made it taste good! Heck, even my Mother-in-law (who does not like my methods but sure enjoys the results) has said that I made the best Banana Pudding she has ever eaten and that is saying something, she is 83!
