Обо мне
Have been cooking ALL MY LIFE! It is my passion and lots of fun to just see how people are brought together by even the most simple ingredients. It is a way of life for me. I am married to a wonderful man, David and we share our three kids who are Zachary, Claire, and Maddie. Along with a party of five our house is inhabited with five rescue kitties that think they are human. Tigger, Monte, Dora, Panda, and Oscar are really quite hilarious. Believe it or not Oscar loves raw spinach, grapes, watermelon, fish, and shrimp-which she can't have because she has an allergy to it. Go figure! The other cats love just about anything-Panda won't touch human stuff at all. Sorry for the side trip here.
Honestly my earliest memories are cooking with my grandmothers and mother. It was a lot of fun. Fondest memories were when they made fresh pie dough. Mama always made a little amount just for me and I played with it mainly, but I was learning. These kinds of memories are the most special to me and I did same things with my kids who love cooking alongside of me and David. Many countless weekends have been spent with all of us cooking stuff and hanging with friends and family cooking up a storm. Sorry, enough of that-about me:
I grew up in Greenville, SC-I am a TRUE SOUTHERN GIRL and love it, but I have a twist in my roots. I have a heavy Mediterranean background of Sicilian, Grecian, Jewish, French predominantly. We always had a very eclectic mix of dishes upon our table. I am one of the few who have not extensively traveled much to my dismay even for family overseas. I got married to a ragin' cajun from Jackson, Mississippi. There were even funnier dishes added to our famiy gatherings.
About ten years ago I began my own bakery that featured baked goods that look like what your grandmother would put on the sideboard for special gatherings or Sunday feasts. It was a great experience and my line was picked up with a tea and coffee distributorship willing to finance a larger investment. Sadly, my health declined and I withdrew from it. But it was really gratifying to know I could have gone all the way.
For the present, my husband and I are co-owners with our real estate appraisal firm here in Anderson. We are very active in our church which is CEPC short for Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church ( told ya it was long).
I admit I do not have the wonderful resume that many on here seem to have and that is okay, but I have passion! I hope y'all will forgive that flaw taking pity on poor little me. I look forward to learning from the best. Be nice to me.
When I am not in the kitchen I love to be outdoors hiking, surfing-not the net!-tennis, horseback riding English style, reading everything possible, cross stitch, knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, sketching. But, my latest most exciting endeavor is writing my first novel. I actually have one in the works and three others being fleshed out. I am an admitted Agatha Christie and P. D. James junkie. I love classic movies and all sorts of music. Way too much to name on all I like.
My favorite things I can foresee on the horizon is to be when our kids bring our grand children around and I make memories with them just like their parents. That is going to be so incredibly cool! I will be passing on things like what I learned from my grandmothers and mother.
