It’s been over a year since I first reviewed Healthy Choice All Natural Entrees. My son Nathan still loves heating up one for breakfast (!) or a snack. Yet, not all Healthy Choice meals are equal. I wasn’t crazy about Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers, so when I tried the new Healthy Choice Steaming Entrees at BlogHer 10, I was a bit wary. These couldn’t be tasty – and if they were they’d be made from all sort of scary, unnatural ingredients.

%20or%20a%20snack.%20Yet,%20not%20all%20Healthy%20Choice%20meals%20are%20equal.%20I%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20crazy%20about%20Healthy%20Choice%20Cafe%20Steamers,%20so%20when%20I%20tried%20the%20new%20Healthy%20Choice%20Steaming%20Entrees%20at%20BlogHer%2010,%20I%20was%20a%20bit%20wary.%20These%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20be%20tasty%20%E2%80%93%20and%20if%20they%20were%20they%E2%80%99d%20be%20made%20from%20all%20sort%20of%20scary,%20unnatural%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20when%20Mom%20Central%20sent%20me%20a%20few%20samples%20to%20try%20out,%20I%20was%20pleasantly%20surprised.%20Not%20only%20were%20they%20much%20better%20than%20the%20Cafe%20Steamers,%20but%20they%20had%20a%20decent%20%E2%80%93%20though%20not%20perfect%20%E2%80%93%20ingredient%20list.%20Also,%20they%20were%20much%20easier%20to%20cook.%20You%20just%20popped%20them%20in%20the%20microwave%20and%20cooked%20for%20the%20recommended%20time.%20(Do%20not%20peel%20back%20or%20puncture%20the%20film.)%20Then%20you%20let%20it%20stand%20for%20two%20minutes%20before%20eating.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoasted%20Chicken%20Verde%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Roasted%20Chicken%20Verde%20is%20a%20typical,%20healthy%20frozen%20meal%20%E2%80%93%20chicken%20and%20vegetables%20with%20south-of-the-border%20seasonings.%20Everyone%20from%20Lean%20Cuisine%20to%20Weight%20Watchers%20Smart%20Ones%20has%20a%20similar%20one.%20I%20was%20disappointed%20with%20the%20mushy%20rice,%20but%20the%20chicken%20and%20vegetables%20were%20plentiful%20and%20perfectly%20done.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENutritionally%20speaking,%20the%20Roasted%20Chicken%20Verde%20was%20excellent.%20Only%20240%20calories,%203.5g%20of%20fat,%2014g%20of%20protein%20and%204%20Weight%20Watchers%20POINTS.%20Ingredients%20wise,%20it%20had%20good%20things%20like%20brown%20rice,%20chicken%20tenderloins,%20crushed%20tomatillos,%20poblano%20peppers,%20cliantro,%20lime%20juice,%20corn,%20and%20red%20peppers.%20I%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20thrilled%20to%20see%20that%20soy%20protein%20product%20(isolated%20soy%20protein,%20modified%20food%20starch,%20carrageenan,%20soy%20lecithin)%20was%20used%20to%20flavor%20the%20chicken%20tenderloins,%20however.%20Also,%20there%20was%20500%20mg%20of%20sodium,%20or%20about%2020%25%20of%20your%20recommended%20daily%20serving%20%E2%80%93%20not%20bad.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20like%20the%20taste%20left%20in%20my%20mouth%20after%20eating%20it%20(too%20spicy!)%20I%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20buy%20this%20one%20again.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChicken%20Romano%20Fresca%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20this%20one%20I%20liked!%20I%20normally%20hate%20pasta%20and%20chicken%20together%20(it%20skeeves%20me),%20but%20this%20frozen%20healthy%20meal%20would%20be%20one%20I%E2%80%99d%20purchase%20again.%20Due%20to%20the%20delicious%20Romano%20cheese%20and%20butter%20glaze%20and%20the%20whole-grain%20pasta%20noodles,%20the%20Chicken%20Romano%20Fresca%20tastes%20like%20something%20I%E2%80%99d%20make%20as%20a%20decadent%20special%20treat%20%E2%80%93%20not%20a%20low%20calorie%20dish!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20has%20230%20calories,%205g%20of%20fat,%204g%20of%20fiber,%20and%20a%20whopping%2016g%20of%20protein%20%E2%80%93%20but%20only%204%20Weight%20Watchers%20POINTS.%20Again,%20the%20chicken%20tenderloins%20were%20flavored%20with%20soy%20protein%20product,but%20it%20also%20was%20made%20with%20whole%20grain%20wheat%20flour,%20broccoli,%20red%20pepper%20and%20real%20butter%20and%20Romano%20cheese.%20High%20maltose%20corn%20syrup%20is%20used%20in%20the%20garlic%20puree,%20but%20it%E2%80%99s%20way%20down%20on%20the%20ingredient%20list.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20again,%20not%20perfect,%20but%20delicious%20and%20low%20in%20POINTS%20and%20calories,%20and%20high%20in%20protein.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20are%20eight%20Healthy%20Choice%20Steaming%20Entrees%20currently%20available%20in%20grocery%20stores.%20Go%20to%20the%20Healthy%20Choice%20website%20for%20a%20$1%20off%20two%20Healthy%20Choice%20frozen%20entrees%20coupon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E__________________%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDisclosure:%20I%20received%20two%20samples%20of%20Healthy%20Choice%20Steaming%20Entr%C3%A9es%20to%20facilitate%20my%20review%20and%20was%20compensated%20for%20my%20time.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
