- 1 med. onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 (28 ounce.) can tomato sauce
- 1-3 tbsp. chili pwdr (depending on your taste) -- I use 2
- 1/2 teaspoon grnd cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2-4 tbsp. sugar

- Saute/fry onion and garlic in oil till limp. Add in tomato sauce. Then add in chili pwdr, cumin, oregano and salt. Stir in sugar to your taste. (I use quite a bit--sufficient to take the sharp taste out, but not sufficient to actually taste sweet.) Simmer about 1/2 hour.
