%202-week%20periods%20off%20this%20year%20and%20his%20first%20started%20last%20Friday%20evening.%20%20We%20took%20advantage%20of%20the%20break%20and%20drove%20over%20to%20visit%20my%20sister-in-law%E2%80%99s%20family%20in%20Pennsylvania.%20%20I%20spent%20our%20entire%20visit%20with%20the%20dog%20and/or%20my%20niece%20on%20my%20lap%20so%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20a%20single%20picture%20from%20Saturday.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20Friday,%20I%20had%20a%20large,%20late%20lunch%20at%20Whole%20Foods%20before%20we%20got%20in%20the%20car.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20hot%20bar%20assortment.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EClockwise%20from%20top%20left%20%E2%80%93%20green%20beans,%20gnocchi,%20broccoli,%20mac%20and%20cheese,%20big%20noodles,%20and%20Cesar%20salad.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20dessert,%20I%20surprised%20Adam%20with%20a%20bag%20of%20limited%20edition%20chocolate%20dipped%20wavy%20Lays.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20read%20negative%20reviews%20about%20them%20online,%20but%20we%20both%20loved%20them.%20%20They%20had%20the%20perfect%20ratio%20of%20salty%20and%20sweet;%20the%20chocolate%20was%20only%20on%20one%20side%20of%20most%20chips%20so%20it%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20too%20overwhelming.%20%20The%20bag%20said%20it%20contained%20five%20servings,%20but%20we%20didn%E2%80%99t%20find%20that%20to%20be%20true%20;)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20youngest%20niece%20had%20the%20sniffles%20all%20weekend%20and%20I%20came%20back%20with%20them%20too.%20%20Here%E2%80%99s%20what%20I%20ate%20before%20I%20realized%20just%20how%20sick%20I%20was%20%E2%80%93%20A%20Siggi%E2%80%99s%202%25%20Pumpkin%20Spice%20Yogurt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20flavor%20was%20great,%20definitely%20the%20best%20pumpkin%20yogurt%20I%E2%80%99ve%20tried%20so%20far.%20%20Sometimes%20Siggi%E2%80%99s%20can%20be%20a%20bit%20sour/chalky%20but%20this%20flavor%20was%20nice%20and%20creamy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20new%20kind%20of%20tofu.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20quartered%20our%20block%20of%20Soy%20Boy%20Caribbean%20pre-seasoned%20tofu%20and%20gave%20it%20a%20quick%20sear.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20comforting%20dinner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20shared%20a%20can%20of%20Bar%20Harbor%20Lobster%20Chowder.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20a%20(giant)%20side%20of%20beer%20bread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheddar%20Garlic%20Beer%20Bread(!!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20good.%20%20That%20bread%20was%20my%20best%20idea%20yet,%20but%20I%20made%20it%20in%20a%20daze%20and%20now%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20remember%20the%20proportion%20of%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20woke%20up%20on%20Monday%20I%20realized%20I%20had%20more%20than%20the%20sniffles,%20I%20was%20sick,%20sick,%20sick.%20%20This%20is%20where%20I%20tell%20you%20that%20I%20have%20not%20eaten%20a%20single%20fruit%20or%20vegetable%20since%20last%20Sunday.%20%20In%20fact,%20Adam%20went%20out-of-town%20for%20a%20few%20days%20mid-week%20when%20I%20was%20at%20my%20sickest%20and%20I%20ended%20up%20eating%20cheese%20and%20crackers%20for%20five%20meals%20straight!%20%20These%20TJ%20raisin%20and%20rosemary%20crisps%20were%20featured%20heavily.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EVery%20tasty,%20but%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20think%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20eating%20cheese%20and%20crackers%20again%20soon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHere%20are%20the%20things%20I%20ate%20last%20week%20that%20weren%E2%80%99t%20cheese,%20or%20at%20least%20weren%E2%80%99t%20100%25%20cheese%20(though%20I%E2%80%99m%20now%20realizing%20that%20I%20did%20stick%20exclusively%20with%20sandwiches%20and%20cookies)%20%E2%80%93%20A%20killer%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20leftover%20slice%20of%20tofu%20with%20smoked%20Gouda%20and%20grape%20Crofters.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAn%20even%20better%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApplegate%20Farms%20honey%20maple%20turkey%20with%20cream%20cheese,%20smoked%20Gouda,%20grape%20Crofters,%20and%20banana%20peppers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20take-out%20sandwich.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurkey%20burger%20with%20mozzarella.%20%20I%20ate%20too%20many%20fries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20mug%20cookie,%20jazzed%20up%20SCM%20and%20salted%20caramel%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20looks%20giant%20and%20fluffy%20like%20that%20because%20I%20double%20the%20recommended%20baking%20soda.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOn%20the%20store-bought%20front,%20my%20mother-in-law%20sent%20us%20a%20cookie%20jar%20of%20Cheryl%E2%80%99s.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks,%20Barb!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFinally,%20I%20received%20two%20samples%20this%20week%20that%20were%20perfect%20for%20trying%20when%20I%20was%20under%20the%20weather.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlease%20note%20%E2%80%93%20I%20received%20the%20following%20products%20free%20of%20charge.%20%20Neither%20company%20provided%20me%20with%20further%20compensation%20for%20this%20post.%20%20All%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENumi%20Organic%20Tea%20sent%20me%20some%20Pu%C2%B7erh%20Variety%20mini%20samplers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThat%20includes%20Chocolate%20Pu%C2%B7erh,%20Emperor%E2%80%99s%20Pu%C2%B7erh,%20Jasmine%20Pu%C2%B7erh,%20Basil%20Mint%20Pu%C2%B7erh,%20Cardamom%20Pu%C2%B7erh,%20and%20Ginger%20Pu%C2%B7erh.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20far%20I%E2%80%99ve%20tried%20the%20Emperor%E2%80%99s%20and%20Jasmine%20varieties%20and%20was%20a%20big%20fan.%20%20I%E2%80%99m%20looking%20forward%20to%20the%20others%20a%20lot,%20though%20I%20will%20probably%20give%20the%20Ginger%20to%20Adam%20because%20that%E2%80%99s%20not%20my%20favorite%20flavor.%20%20Chocolate%20didn%E2%80%99t%20appeal%20to%20me%20with%20my%20cold,%20but%20look%20at%20the%20yummy%20description%20%E2%80%93%20%E2%80%9CWith%20a%20rich%20velvety,%20chocolate%20aroma,%20Numi%E2%80%99s%20Chocolate%20Pu-erh%20is%20an%20enticing%20blend%20of%20deep,%20dark%20pu-erh%20and%20organic%20cocoa%20nibs.%20%20Whole%20vanilla%20beans%20and%20sweet%20accents%20of%20orange%20peel%20enhance%20this%20blend%20along%20with%20nutmeg%20and%20cinnamon%20rounding%20off%20a%20spicy%20finish.%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20received%20a%20bottle%20of%20powdered%20wheat%20grass%20from%20Pines.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20to%20love%20the%20wheat%20grass%20shots%20at%20Jamba%20so%20I%20used%20them%20as%20inspiration%20and%20combined%201%20tsp%20of%20wheat%20grass%20powder%20with%203%20oz%20each%20orange%20juice%20and%20unsweet%20vanilla%20almond%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20delicious!%20%20Though%20next%20time%20I%20might%20shift%20the%20ratio%20a%20bit%20in%20favor%20of%20the%20oj;%20Jamba%20used%20a%20vanilla%20soy%20milk%20that%20brought%20more%20sweetness%20to%20the%20table%20than%20my%20almond%20milk.%20%20If%20you%20are%20unfamiliar%20with%20the%20flavor%20of%20wheat%20grass%20and%20want%20to%20try%20it%20you%20definitely%20can%E2%80%99t%20go%20wrong%20with%20the%20vanilla%20and%20orange%20pairing.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHow%20many%20times%20a%20year%20do%20you%20usually%20get%20sick?%20%20Have%20you%20caught%20a%20cold%20yet%20this%20winter?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELike%20Loading...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERelated%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
