%20I%20didn't%20fancy%20stamping%20out%20the%20men%20and%20sticking%20their%20heads%20back%20on,%20so%20needed%20a%20Plan%20B.%20And%20then%20it%20came%20to%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhy,%20build%20a%20GIANT%20gingerbread%20man%20of%20course!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(Now,%20by%20giant,%20I%20mean%20as-big-as-the-biggest-size-tin-I-own.%20Which%20is%20roughly%2010%20x%207%22,%20so%20I%20used%20the%20leftover%20dough%20to%20make%20some%20gingerbread%20stars%20too.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20anyway,%20with%20him%20now%20becoming%20more%20epic,%20I%20realised%20that%20it%20wouldn't%20just%20do%20to%20present%20him%20as%20an%20ordinary%20gingerbread%20man%20with%20buttons.%20He%20needed%20to%20look%20more%20awesome%20than%20the%20standard%20gingerbread.%20And%20so,%20he%20was%20turned%20into...the%20'ginga'%20bread%20man!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E'Ginga'%20is%20the%20name%20of%20a%20standard%20move%20in%20capoeira,%20where%20it%20means%20'to%20swing'%20or%20rock%20back%20and%20forth.%20You%20basically%20step%20back%20with%20one%20foot,%20then%20the%20other%20from%20side%20to%20side,%20swinging%20your%20arms%20infront%20of%20you%20to%20protect%20your%20face.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20I%20only%20thought%20of%20the%20name%20after%20baking%20him,%20which%20is%20why%20he%20is%20simply%20waving,%20rather%20than%20preparing%20for%20attack!%20But%20with%20the%20iced%20trousers%20and%20belt,%20and%20er,%20slightly%20crooked%20smile,%20I%20would%20hope%20that%20he%20does%20look%20like%20a%20tough%20old%20capoeirista%20cookie%20;-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22Gar,%20you%20wanna%20piece%20a'%20me?%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipe%20can%20of%20course%20be%20used%20to%20make%20any%20kind%20of%20giant%20gingerbread%20man%20you%20want%20(or%20a%20batch%20of%20small%20gingerbread%20pieces).%20Don't%20waste%20any%20leftover%20dough%20from%20the%20big%20man%20though,%20use%20it%20to%20create%20smaller%20men,%20or%20some%20extra%20star/circle%20shapes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20icing%20I've%20left%20out%20the%20recipe%20below%20because%20to%20be%20honest,%20I'm%20crap%20with%20working%20out%20the%20ratio%20of%20icing%20sugar%20to%20water.%20(Basically%20I%20just%20kept%20adding%20in%20sugar%20to%20the%20mix%20until%20it%20was%20thick%20enough%20to%20spread.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20the%20lovely%20chewy%20kind%20of%20gingerbread,%20rather%20than%20the%20hard%20kind,%20and%20so%20it%20will%20still%20be%20slightly%20soft%20when%20you%20take%20it%20out%20the%20oven.%20Only%20make%20this%20then,%20if%20you're%20patient%20enough%20to%20allow%20this%20to%20cool%20and%20firm%20up%20a%20little%20before%20eating...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Mix%20the%20syrup%20with%20the%20water%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Cream%20together%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar,%20then%20mix%20into%20the%20syrup%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20In%20a%20large%20bowl,%20sift%20in%20the%20flour,%20then%20mix%20in%20the%20ginger,%20cinnamon%20and%20soda.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20in%20the%20butter%20mixture,%20then%20start%20to%20knead%20to%20bring%20together%20into%20a%20dough.%20Wrap%20and%20chill%20for%2030%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Roll%20out%20the%20dough%20to%20about%201/4%20inch%20thickness.%20Use%20a%20knife%20to%20cut%20out%20your%20giant%20gingerbead%20man!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Preheat%20the%20oven%20to%20160%20degrees%20C.%20Carefully%20transfer%20your%20man%20to%20a%20lined%20baking%20tray%20and%20chill%20again%20for%2010%20minutes%20if%20possible.%20Bake%20him%20for%20about%2015%20minutes%20until%20golden.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYour%20giant%20gingerbread%20man%20will%20still%20be%20slightly%20soft,%20so%20place%20him%20on%20a%20cooling%20rack%20to%20firm%20up%20before%20icing%20and%20eating!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMore%20Hungry%20Jenny%20cookies%20that%20might%20take%20your%20fancy!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
