%20with%20non-stick%20cooking%20spray%20or%20butter.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20sauce%20pan,%20bring%20the%20butter%20and%20water%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20in%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20ingredients%20one%20at%20a%20time.%20The%20batter%20must%20be%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20batter%20in%20the%20prepared%20pan%20and%20bake%20it%20for%2018-22%20minutes%20or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20in%20the%20center%20of%20the%20cake%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Mine%20was%20done%20in%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20pan%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20let%20it%20cool%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20for%20about%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20pan,%20bring%20the%20butter%20and%20milk%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20remove%20from%20heat.%20Stir%20in%20the%20confectioner%E2%80%99s%20sugar,%20extract,%20nuts%20and%20toffee%20bits.%20Add%20food%20coloring%20and%20stir%20well,%20if%20using%20and%20spread%20over%20warm%20cake.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20felt%20that%20the%20cake%20was%20a%20bit%20too%20sweet%20for%20my%20taste.%20I%20would%20be%20cutting%20back%20at%20least%201/4%20cup%20of%20sugar%20from%20the%20cake%20recipe%20when%20I%E2%80%99m%20making%20it%20again.%20That%E2%80%99s%20the%20reason%20I%20reduced%20the%20quantity%20of%20sugar%20in%20the%20frosting%20recipe.%20The%20original%20recipe%20had%20used%204.5%20cups%20of%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20did%20another%20mistake%20of%20not%20following%20the%20recipe.%20I%20did%20not%20mix%20the%20nuts/toffee%20bits%20with%20the%20frosting%20and%20before%20spreading%20it%20on%20the%20cake.%20I%20wanted%20to%20some%20decoration%20on%20the%20frosting,%20so%20that%20I%20can%20use%20some%20sprinkles,%20M&Ms,%20nuts,%20etc%20on%20the%20cake%20after%20pouring%20the%20frosting.%20But%20the%20frosting%20started%20getting%20harder%20and%20the%20sprinkles%20were%20not%20sticking%20to%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20used%201/2%20cup%20of%20pureed%20silken%20tofu%20instead%20of%202%20eggs%20mentioned%20in%20the%20original%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.2.4%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
