  1. Heat caramels and 1/3 c. evaporated lowfat milk. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 or possibly slightly smaller pan. Combine mix, butter and remaining eevaporated lowfat milk, blend well. Press 1/2 into pan. Bake 6 min. Sprinkle chips and nuts. Pour on caramel as proportionately as you can. "Dollop" the rest of the batter on top in small amounts. Bake 15 - 18 min. Cold. Refrigerate30 min and cut and store at room temperature or possibly freeze.

    A 9 x 13 is far too large for this recipe. We had to pour it out of the larger pan into a 9x9. Also, at first, it wasn't clear as to whether or not we were supposed to prepare the cake mix as directed on the box or use it as a dry ingredient. We did the latter since the recipe didn't specify.
