Ингредиенты

  • 1 sm onion, minced
  •     No-stick cooking spray
  • 1 lb grnd sirloin (lean)
  • 1 x (10 1/2 ounce.) can condensed tomato soup
  • 1 x (4 ounce.) can mushroom pcs & stems, liquid removed
  • 1 Tbsp. chili pwdr
  •     Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tsp baking pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 x egg, well beaten (use Egg Beaters)
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp. salad oil

  1. Saute/fry onion in sprayed skillet till tender. Add in meat and saute/fry till nicely browned, stirring with fork so which meat is broken up into small bits. Drain off any fat. Add in remaining ingredients and mix well. Turn mix into 8 1/2 inch square baking dish and cover with cornmeal batter made as follows: Second list of ingredients above. Mix and sift dry ingredients. Combine egg and buttermilk; add in to dry ingredients, stirring just till well mixed; stir in oil. Spread batter proportionately over meat mix and bake in a warm 400 degree oven about 30 min. 1/4 of whole makes a serving which will contain 3 ounces of meat and 2 servings of bread.
