- 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
- Icing:
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon grated orange peel
- 2 - 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar

.%20If%20it%20gets%20too%20hot,%20just%20let%20it%20cool%20for%20a%20few%20minutes.%20Pour%20into%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl%20and%20stir%20in%20the%20sugar%20and%20then%20the%20yeast.%20Let%20this%20mixture%20stand%20for%20about%205%20minutes,%20or%20until%20it%20begins%20to%20foam.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20two%20cups%20of%20the%20flour,%20sweet%20potatoes,%20cardamom,%20salt,%20and%20orange%20peel%20to%20the%20yeast%20mixture%20and%20beat%20well.%20Add%20the%20remaining%20flour,%20%C2%BD%20cup%20at%20a%20time,%20stirring%20well%20after%20each%20addition.%20When%20the%20dough%20has%20just%20pulled%20together,%20turn%20it%20onto%20a%20lightly%20floured%20surface%20and%20knead%20until%20smooth,%20about%205%20minutes.%20(Alternately,%20add%203%20cups%20of%20the%20flour%20right%20away%20and%20just%20use%20the%20dough%20hook%20on%20your%20mixer%20to%20knead%20the%20dough%20for%20about%20five%20minutes).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20love%20the%20orange%20color%20of%20the%20dough...this%20is%20going%20to%20be%20so%20good!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20the%20dough%20in%20a%20greased%20bowl%20and%20cover%20with%20a%20clean%20damp%20towel.%20Allow%20dough%20to%20rise%20until%20double,%20about%201%20hour.%20In%20the%20mean%20time,%20in%20a%20small%20bowl,%20mix%20together%20the%20softened%20butter,%20brown%20sugar,%20cinnamon%20and%203%20tablespoons%20sweet%20potatoes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20out%20the%20dough%20into%20a%2012X9%20inch%20rectangle%20(I%20like%20to%20do%20this%20on%20my%20Silpat).%20Spread%20the%20dough%20with%20the%20cinnamon/sugar%20mixture.%20%20Roll%20up%20the%20dough%20and%20pinch%20seam%20to%20seal.%20Cut%20into%2012%20equal%20sized%20pieces%20and%20place%20into%20a%20greased%209X13%20inch%20pan.%20Cover%20and%20let%20rise%20until%20doubled.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20look%20closely,%20you%20can%20see%20the%20flecks%20of%20orange%20peel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20filling%20got%20a%20little%20warm%20and%20melty.%20I%20was%20a%20bit%20concerned%20that%20I%20made%20too%20much,%20or%20that%20I%20should%20have%20chilled%20it......%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E.......and%20it%20was%20a%20little%20messy%20getting%20the%20rolls%20cut%20(I%20used%20the%20dental%20floss%20method),%20but%20it%20was%20all%20good%20in%20the%20end.%20Next%20time%20I%20may%20chill%20the%20dough%20for%20a%20bit%20before%20slicing,%20but%20there%20was%20just%20enough%20filling%20to%20make%20a%20nice%20gooey%20roll.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20at%20375%20%C2%B0%20F.%20for%2025%20to%2030%20minutes%20or%20until%20browned.%20Remove%20from%20oven%20and%20frost%20while%20warm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20icing,%20combine%20cream%20cheese,%20butter,%20vanilla,%20orange%20juice%20and%20orange%20peel%20in%20a%20medium%20sized%20bowl.%20Beat%20well%20with%20a%20hand%20mixer.%20Slowly%20beat%20in%20enough%20of%20the%20powdered%20sugar%20to%20make%20the%20desired%20consistency.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20the%20best%20part%20of%20making%20these%20with%20sweet%20potatoes%20is%20that%20they%20didn't%20dry%20out%20right%20away.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20there%20you%20have%20it:%20warm,%20gooey,%20soft,%20and%20sweet....with%20a%20hint%20of%20orange%20and%20a%20subtle%20sweet%20potato%20taste.%20My%20husband%20snarfed%20up%20two%20of%20them%20immediately.%20I%20think%20the%20recipe%20is%20a%20keeper.....%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
