Spicy Rice And Lentils

Ингредиенты

  • 1/2 c. brown lentils soaked for 1 hour
  • 1 x larpe onion finely minced
  • 1/2 tsp mashed garlic
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 x fresh green chilli seeded and finely minced
  • 4 Tbsp. ghee
  • 1 x cinnamon stick
  • 2 x cloves
  • 1 x bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c. long grain rice soaked for 1 hour
  • 1/2 c. red lentils
  • 2 Tbsp. minced spring onions

Инструкции

  1. Drain the brown lentils cover with boiling water and boil for 15 min till beginning to soften. Drain.
  2. Cook the onion garlic ginger and chilli in the ghee till soft and lightly coloured.
  3. Add in the cinnamon cloves bay leaves and turmeric.
  4. Cook for 2 min stirring.
  5. Add in the liquid removed rice and lentils mix well then add in water to cover by 3cm.
  6. Bring to the boil then cook on very low heat untilthe liquid has been absorbed about 20 min. Stir in the minced spring onion.
  7. Remove cinnamon stick before serving.
  8. Serves 6
