%20but%20actually%20introducing%20them%20into%20my%20cooked%20dishes%E2%80%A6.%20this%20is%20very%20much%20a%20new%20area%20of%20cooking%20ground%20for%20me!%20Over%20the%20last%20year%20or%20so%20I%20have%20discovered%20the%20whole%20fruit%20meat%20combination%20and%20embraced%20it%20thoroughly!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20think%20some%20of%20the%20original%20inspiration%20for%20this%20dish%20came%20some%20time%20back%20from%20reading%20an%20ancient%20copy%20of%20Good%20Houskeeping,%20involving%20some%20fishy%20dish%20with%20them%20in%20(though%20at%20this%20stage%20of%20my%20grape%20fuelled%20path%20that%20particular%20recipe%20does%20not%20sound%20at%20all%20appealing!)%20and%20also%20a%20little%20credit%20must%20be%20given%20to%20the%20lovely%20Helen%20of%20Fuss%20Free%20Flavours%20who%20posted%20a%20while%20back%20a%20heavenly%20looking%20dish%20involving%20baked%20grapes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOverall%20I%20suppose%20the%20thoughts%20had%20been%20just%20simmering%20there,%20until%20I%20ended%20up%20with%20a%20glut%20of%20grapes%20after%20buying%20a%20punnet,%20and%20then%20my%20dad%20happened%20to%20also%20turn%20up%20with%20a%20punnet%20too%20for%20me%20(he%20always%20brings%20me%20fruit%20bless%20him!)%20and%20so%20rather%20promptly%20they%20all%20needed%20eating%20up%20and%20the%20grape-y%20thoughts%20all%20gently%20bubbled%20to%20the%20surface%20of%20my%20brain%20and%20this%20dish%20was%20born!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20particular%20recipe%20is%20slightly%20not%20for%20the%20faint%20hearted%20person%20but%20you%20can%20ask%20a%20nice%20butcher%20to%20do%20this%20bit%20for%20you!%20Compared%20to%20spatchcocking%20big%20chickens,%20its%20much%20easier%20to%20do%20the%20poussins,%20grab%20a%20nice%20big%20sharp%20cooks%20knife%20and%20it%20takes%20moments%20to%20do!%20My%20heart%20did%20sink%20a%20little%20at%20how%20small%20they%20were%20and%20my%20flatmate%20didn't%20want%20to%20look%20at%20what%20I%20was%20doing%20but%20its%20also%20quite%20satisfying%20in%20a%20weird%20kind%20of%20way..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%20Two:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20little%20effort%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETakes%20about%20an%20hour%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%201:%20Preheat%20your%20oven%20200o/%20Gas%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%202:%20After%20preparing%20the%20poussins,%20get%20a%20large%20roasting%20tin%20ready,%20lined%20with%20foil.%20Toss%20the%20poussins%20in%20a%20little%20olive%20oil%20to%20lightly%20coat,%20then%20dust%20all%20over%20with%20the%20seasoned%20flour.%20Place%20on%20the%20tray%20breastbone%20side%20up,%20stick%20a%20skewer%20through%20to%20keep%20them%20flat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%203:%20Transfer%20the%20tin%20to%20the%20oven,%20after%2010%20minutes,%20toss%20the%20grapes%20in%20a%20little%20olive%20oil%20and%20scatter%20into%20the%20tin.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%204:%20When%20the%20chicken%20is%20almost%20cooked,%20at%20about%2035%20minutes,%20mix%20the%20ros%C3%A9,%20mustard,%20stock%20pot%20and%20water%20add%20to%20the%20pan%20and%20return%20to%20the%20oven%20and%20cook%20for%20a%20further%2015%20minutes%20or%20until%20cooked%20through.%20Carefully%20transfer%20the%20remaining%20liquid%20into%20a%20small%20saucepan,%20bring%20to%20the%20boil%20and%20reduce%20by%20about%20half,%20add%20most%20of%20the%20parsley%20after%20turning%20off%20the%20heat,%20reserving%20a%20pinch%20for%20serving.%20Season%20to%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20pre-thickened%20stage!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStep%204:%20Serve%20the%20chicken%20with%20roasted%20vegetables%20of%20your%20choice%20and%20pour%20over%20the%20sauce,%20adding%20the%20final%20garnish%20of%20parsley%20over%20the%20top.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlongside%20the%20poussins%20I%20also%20served%20miniature%20pork%20meatloaves,%20which%20will%20follow%20in%20a%20seperate%20post%20soon!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBoth%20me%20and%20my%20dad%20loved%20this%20dish%20-%20it%20had%20the%20sweet%20grapes,%20slightly%20sharp%20wine%20and%20a%20little%20kick%20of%20the%20wholegrain%20mustard.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOptional%20extra:%20Serve%20with%20remaining%20wine%20to%20save%20wastage.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20thanks%20to%20Knorr%20for%20the%20stock%20pots!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
