Simon is growing so quickly! How can I slow down time? #nevergrowupsimon
Last week he had his 2 month check up, shots and all. We actually have to go back tomorrow for more shots, because I have this idea in my head that if my baby is given more than two shots during one visit, he will grow an extra arm or something. Ok, so I don’t really believe that. But, I once heard about a dog who was given multiple vaccination shots at one time and ended up with some sort of brain damage or heart failure or something that made him die shortly afterwards. After hearing stories like that, you can’t help but compare your baby to a dog (right?) and then keep your pediatrician from giving him more than two shots.

%20and%20then%20keep%20your%20pediatrician%20from%20giving%20him%20more%20than%20two%20shots.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETherefore,%20two%20shots%20were%20given%20last%20week%20and%20one%20more%20shot%20plus%20an%20oral%20vaccination%20is%20on%20the%20books%20for%20tomorrow.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHe%20did%20great%20last%20week.%20%20Hoping%20for%20the%20same%20this%20week!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20his%20appointment,%20Simon%20weighed%20in%20just%20over%2012%20healthy%20pounds%20(12%20lb%201%20oz)%20which%20is%20the%2060th%20percentile.%20%20His%20height%20is%20looking%20pretty%20good,%20as%20well,%20at%2023.5%20inches,%20which%20is%20the%2075th%20percentile.%20%20Judah%20was%20always%20off%20the%20charts%20for%20height%20and%20weight,%20so%20this%20is%20a%20little%20smaller%20than%20we%E2%80%99re%20used%20to,%20but%20happy%20about%20it%20because%20I%E2%80%99m%20pretty%20sure%20I%20over-fed%20Judah.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpeaking%20of%E2%80%A6%20look%20at%20the%20comparison%20of%20our%20two%20kiddos%20at%202%20months%20old.%20%20Very%20different,%20yet%20very%20similar.%20%20Same%20kid,%20different%20color?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYes,%20Simon%E2%80%99s%20hair%20does%20look%20reddish%20in%20some%20lighting.%20%20Crazy!%20%20Who%E2%80%99s%20kid%20IS%20this?!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20kid%20smiles%20a%20TON.%20%20Seriously,%20earlier%20today%20I%20sat%20with%20him%20in%20my%20lap%20while%20he%20smiled%20and%20cooed%20at%20me%20for%20THIRTY%20minutes%20straight.%20%20My%20heart%20is%20mush.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETummy%20time%20doesn%E2%80%99t%20happen%20often,%20but%20I%20guess%20that%E2%80%99s%20not%20a%20problem%20because%20he%20rolled%20over%20TWO%20TIMES%20in%20a%20row%20today!%20%20Ben%20told%20me%20he%20rolled%20over%20a%20couple%20of%20weeks%20ago%20when%20he%20was%20watching%20the%20kids%20and%20I%20was%20out%20doing%20who%20knows%20what.%20%20(Probably%20grocery%20shopping.)%20%20I%20think%20I%20blocked%20that%20out%20of%20my%20mind,%20though,%20because%20it%20never%20happened%20again%20and%20because%20I%20think%20I%20just%20didn%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20believe%20that%20I%20missed%20out%20on%20one%20of%20his%20milestones.%20%20But,%20he%20did%20it%20twice%20for%20me.%20%20BOOM!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheck%20it%20out%20yourself:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJudah%20rolled%20over%20consistently%20starting%20at%205%20days%20old!%20%20Yeah,%20he%E2%80%99s%20partial%20Superman%E2%80%A6%20probably%20why%20he%20has%20the%20dark%20features.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhich%20reminds%20me,%20Simon%E2%80%99s%20eyes%20are%20still%20blue.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20may%20be%20very%20different,%20but%20Judah%20and%20Simon%20sure%20do%20love%20each%20other!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUpdate:%20%20I%20forgot%20to%20share%20Simon%E2%80%99s%20sleeping%20and%20eating%20schedule%20information,%20for%20those%20of%20you%20who%20are%20interested.%20%20I%20know%20it%20helped%20me%20with%20my%20first%20kid%20to%20be%20able%20to%20read%20and%20hear%20about%20others%E2%80%99%20experiences.%20%20Plus,%20it%E2%80%99s%20nice%20to%20have%20this%20journaled%20for%20me%20to%20look%20back%20on.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimon%20is%20bottle%20fed.%20%20He%20eats%20anywhere%20from%203%20to%205%20ounces%20every%203%20to%204%20hours,%20except%20during%20the%20night%20when%20he%20goes%20for%20a%20long%20stretch%20without%20a%20feeding.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimon%20is%20actually%20sleeping%20like%20a%20champ,%20still.%20%20You%20can%20read%20about%20his%20initial%20sleeping%20habits%20in%20his%201-month%20update%20where%20we%20had%20just%20started%20putting%20him%20down%20earlier%20(between%208-9PM)%20and%20he%20would%20wake%20around%202-3AM%20for%20a%20feeding,%20then%20again%20for%20the%20day%20around%205-6AM.%20%20Well,%20this%20has%20improved%20immensely%20in%20the%20last%20couple%20of%20weeks.%20%20We%20now%20put%20him%20down%20around%208PM%20and%20he%E2%80%99ll%20sleep%206-8%20hours,%20usually%20waking%20at%203-4AM%20for%20a%20feeding,%20then%20he%E2%80%99ll%20wake%20up%20for%20the%20day%20at%207AM.%20%20Pretty%20sweet%20deal!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20are%20still%20putting%20your%20baby%20to%20bed%20at%2011PM%20(or%20a%20later%20time%20than%208PM)%20then%20I%E2%80%99d%20suggest%20trying%20to%20put%20him%20down%20earlier.%20%20This%20is%20why%20it%20works%20(and%20what%20a%20friend%20taught%20me%20when%20Judah%20was%20a%20baby%E2%80%A6thanks%20Heidi!):%20%20At%20about%207:30PM,%20%E2%80%9Ctop%20him%20off%E2%80%9D%20with%20a%20feeding.%20%20Simon%20is%20formula%20fed,%20so%20I%20make%20about%202-3%20ounces%20(depending%20on%20how%20long%20it%E2%80%99s%20been%20since%20his%20last%20feeding)%20to%20give%20to%20him%20and%20feed%20what%20he%E2%80%99ll%20take.%20Then,%20I%20put%20him%20down%20for%20the%20night.%20%20I%20also%20make%20sure%20that%20I%20lay%20him%20in%20bed%20when%20he%E2%80%99s%20sleepy,%20but%20still%20awake%20so%20that%20he%20knows%20how%20to%20put%20himself%20to%20sleep.%20%20This%20way,%20if/when%20he%20wakes%20during%20the%20night,%20he%E2%80%99s%20able%20to%20just%20fall%20right%20back%20asleep%20without%20needing%20me%20at%20all.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimon%20has%20a%20pretty%20good%20sleeping%20schedule%20during%20the%20day%20now,%20too!%20%20Yippee!!!%20%20He%20naps%20around%209AM%20for%20about%20an%20hour,%20then%20again%20around%20Noon%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20hours%20(yes!)%20and%20then%20another%20hour%20nap%20sometime%20in%20between%20the%20afternoon%20nap%20and%208PM%20bedtime,%20depending%20on%20when%20he%20wakes%20from%20that%20afternoon%20nap.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20couldn%E2%80%99t%20ask%20for%20a%20better%20baby!!%20%20Thank%20you,%20God!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
