- 1/2 c. parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tbsp. dry whole marjoram
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic pwdr
- 1/4 teaspoon grnd nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon coarsely grnd pepper
- 4 lg. baking potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 3 lbs.)
- 2 tbsp. parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 2 c. whipping cream
- 1/2 c. water
- Fresh parsley sprigs, for garnish

- Combine first six ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside. Layer 1/3 potatoes in a lightly greased 12" x 8" x 2" baking dish. Sprinkle half of seasoning mix over potatoes. Repeat layers with potatoes and seasonings, ending with potatoes. Sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese. Combine whipping cream and water; pour over potatoes. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hrs. Uncover and bake 30 min longer. Let stand 10 min before serving.
