It is an Indian popular spiced rice with meat. I made this recipe for those who like to enjoy Indian food with less spices. This recipe is simple but full of flavour. It's so yummy!!!

1/2 c oil
3 medium onions, sliced
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
1 bay leaf
1/2 tbsp. garlic paste (3 cloves)
1/2 tbsp. ginger paste (1 cm. ginger)
2 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. MSG
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 kg. chicken, cut up
1 chicken cube
1 tbsp. curry powder
1 c water
1/2 kg. Basmati rice (long-grained)

Brown onions with cinnamon, star anise and bay leaf in hot oil.
Add ginger and garlic. Saute for 1 minute.
Stir in tomatoes until mushy.
Season with salt, MSG and chili powder.
Add chicken, chicken cube and curry powder. Stir fry for 5 minutes.
Mix water and simmer until chicken is tender.
Meanwhile, clean and rinse rice many times. Soak for 30 minutes.
Boil enough water and add rice. Cook until rice is 75% done. Drain.
In a large pan, mix rice, chicken and sauce. Steam for 20 minutes or until smokes come out from the pan.
