- Preheat the oven to 350 F
- Line an 8-inch shallow cake pan with waxed paper
- Grease the paper with a little butter.
- Place the butter, molasses, and sugar in a pan set over low heat
- Cook, stirring constantly, until melted and thoroughly combined
- Remove the pan from the heat
- Stir in the rolled oats and salt
- Spoon into the prepared cake pan
- Smooth the surface
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden
- Leave in the pan until cool enough to handle
- Unmold and cut into eight equal wedges while still hot.
