Ингредиенты

  • 1/2 c. Uncooked short-grain white r
  • 3 1/2 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1 1/2 c. Whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Minced blanched almonds
  • 16 ounce Can dark sweet cherries
  • 1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
  •     Water
  •     Cherry liqueur, if you like

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine rice and lowfat milk. Cook over medium heat 45 min or possibly till rice is tender; set aside to cold. In a bowl whip cream till stiff; stir in vanilla. Stir whipped cream, sugar and minced almonds into the cooled rice. Chill 3 to 4 hrs.
  2. Sauce: Heat cherries with juice. Dissolve cornstarch in a little water. Stir into cherries; gently stir over medium heat till thicked.
  3. Some people like the cherry sauce served warm with the rice pudding.
  4. In Denmark the tradition is to include 1 whole almond in the rice pudding. and the person to find it wins the prize commonly a cute & tasty marzipan pig!
