%20baking%20peach%20and%20apple%20pies.%20%20Making%20more%20kinds%20of%20candies%20than%20I%20can%20remember,%20and%20of%20course%20all%20those%20wonderful%20down%20home%20southern%20meals.%20%20Then%20there%20was%20Grandma%20Jean.%20%20I%20spent%20so%20many%20weekends%20in%20the%20kitchen%20with%20her%20baking%20cookies%20and%20cakes.%20The%20most%20delicious%20farm%20house%20meals%20came%20right%20out%20of%20her%20kitchen%20and%20were%20embedded%20in%20my%20memories.%20%20Of%20Course%20the%20most%20southern%20meals%20came%20from%20Grandma%20Cortie%20and%20my%20Aunt%20Carol.%20%20These%20two%20beautiful%20ladies%20taught%20me%20the%20simplicity%20of%20cooking.%20%20Showing%20me%20that%20you%20could%20take%20the%20simplest%20ingredients%20(usually%20from%20the%20garden)%20and%20make%20a%20meal%20that%20would%20have%20you%20coming%20back%20for%20seconds%20and%20thirds.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20I%20have%20been%20influenced%20by%20the%20best%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20my%20cooking.%20%20I%20can%20prepare%20a%20spread%20fit%20for%20a%20king,%20or%20I%20can%20utilize%20what%20Grandma%20Cortie%20and%20Aunt%20Carol%20taught%20me,%20and%20go%20simple.%20%20So%20that%20is%20what%20I%20did%20with%20this%20recipe.%20%20Instead%20of%20breaking%20out%20all%20my%20usual%20baking%20ingredients%20and%20measuring%20out%20the%20necessary%20list%20of%20items%20to%20put%20together%20these%20cookies.%20%20I%20opted%20for%20a%20boxed%20cake%20mix.%20%20Aunt%20Carol%20taught%20me%20this%20trick%20and%20I%20still%20love%20it%20to%20this%20day.%20%20So%20here%20is%20my%20version%20of%20red%20velvet%20cookies%20from%20a%20cake%20mix.%20%20Oh,%20I%20decided%20to%20add%20white%20chocolate%20chips.%20%20Why?%20Because%20I%20can.%20%20LOL%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERed%20Velvet%20Chocolate%20Chip%20Cookies%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20box%20of%20red%20velvet%20cake%20mix%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20in%20a%20large%20bowl,%20the%20cake%20mix%20the%20eggs%20and%20oil.%20Combine%20the%20mixture%20thoroughly%20%20and%20then%20stir%20in%20the%20white%20chocolate%20chips.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESpoon%20onto%20baking%20sheets%20about%20a%20walnut%20sized%20amount%20of%20batter.%20I%20usually%20a%20small%20ice%20cream%20scoop%20to%20make%20sure%20I%20get%20equal%20sized%20cookies.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2013-%2015%20minutes.%20%20Cookies%20are%20finished%20when%20you%20can%20slide%20them%20around%20without%20them%20sticking%20to%20the%20baking%20sheet.%20%20Watch%20your%20cookies%20though.%20%20Different%20cake%20mixes%20and%20ovens%20can%20take%20less%20time%20to%20cook.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
