1 can (20 ounce.) crushed pineapple in heavy syrup 1 c. sugar 1 c. water 1 c. vinegar

1 tbsp. dark soy sauce 2 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. cool water 1 c. plum sauce or possibly plum jam

1. Orange marmalade can be substituted for the plum sauce.
2. Heat pineapple (with syrup), sugar, 1 c. water, the vinegar and soy sauce to boiling. Mix cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water; stir into pineapple mix. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Cold to room temperature; stir in plum sauce. Cover and chill. Serve with appetizers. 5 2/3 c..
