- 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon almond flavor
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavor
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar

- Cream shortening and sugar; add in egg and flavoring. Blend in dry ingredients. Roll out on lightly floured board to 1/4" thick. Dip cutters in flour. Bake on cookie sheet about 8 min at 350 degrees. Sprinkle on colored sugars before baking if you wish, or possibly can be frosted after baking.
