%20Mr.%20T.%20has%20a%20well%20developed%20sweet%20tooth,%202)%20Mr.%20T.%20loves%20peanut%20butter%20cookies,%203)%20Mr.%20T.%20especially%20loves%20peanut%20butter%20and%20chocolate,%20and%204)%20I%20couldn't%20help%20myself%20and%20also%20ate%20a%20few%20or%20more%20than%20a%20few!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20recipe%20for%20Peanut%20Butter%20Blossoms%20has%20been%20around%20for%20a%20very%20long%20time%20so%20when%20I%20saw%20it%20on%20Colleen's%20blog,%20Secrets%20from%20the%20Cookie%20Princess%20I%20smiled.%20%20It%20is%20Secret%20Recipe%20Club%20reveal%20day%20and,%20yes,%20I%20was%20assigned%20Collen's%20blog,%20Secrets%20from%20the%20Cookie%20Princess.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20going%20to%20make%20her%20Roasted%20Garlic%20Flatbread%20and%20Red%20Pepper,%20Walnut,%20Tahini%20Dip%20but%20my%20energy%20level%20has%20been%20down%20a%20bit%20so%20I%20made%20the%20cookies%20as%20a%20back-up%20plan.%20%20It%20is%20a%20good%20thing%20that%20I%20did....as%20I%20am%20delaying%20the%20flatbread%20and%20dip%20and%20will%20make%20it%20next%20week!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20I%20compared%20my%20recipe%20to%20Colleen's,%20I%20noticed%20two%20things.%20%201)%20Her%20recipe%20made%207%201/2%20dozen%20cookies!%20%20That%20would%20be%20enough%20for%20our%20entire%20neighborhood%20so%20I%20had%20to%20reduce%20it.%20%20And,%202)%20the%20recipe%20used%20all%20butter.%20%20I%20was%20hesitant%20to%20use%20all%20butter%20and%20thought%20that%20I%20should%20use%20half%20butter%20and%20half%20shortening.%20%20I%20made%20that%20decision%20because%20butter%20melts%20at%20a%20lower%20temperature%20than%20shortening,%20so%20it%20will%20melt%20faster.%20%20The%20faster%20the%20melting,%20the%20more%20quickly%20the%20cookie%20will%20spread%20in%20the%20oven.%20%20Since%20I%20didn't%20want%20a%20flat%20and%20crispy%20cookie%20but%20one%20that%20maintained%20its%20shape%20and%20raised,%20using%20half%20butter%20and%20half%20shortening%20was%20the%20best%20option%20for%20me.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWho%20doesn't%20want%20to%20press%20a%20Hershey's%20Kiss%20into%20a%20warm%20cookie%20and%20see%20the%20sides%20of%20the%20cookie%20raise%20around%20the%20chocolate%20kiss%20and%20then%20watch%20as%20the%20chocolate%20starts%20to%20melt?%20%20Doesn't%20your%20mouth%20just%20water%20thinking%20about%20it?%20%20Aren't%20these%20the%20cutest%20little%20morsels?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20very%20old%20recipe%20yield's%20half%20of%20Colleen's%20and%20is%20almost%20a%20match%20ingredient%20to%20ingredient%20(except%20for%20the%20adjustments%20previously%20mentioned)%20so%20that%20is%20what%20I%20have%20transcribed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPeanut%20Butter%20Blossoms%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYield:%20%203%20dozen%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E36%20Hershey's%20Kisses,%20unwrapped%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECream%20together%20sugars,%20shortening,%20butter%20and%20peanut%20butter.%20%20Add%20other%20ingredients,%20except%20kisses.%20%20Mix%20until%20thick%20%20dough%20forms.%20%20Shape%20dough%20into%201-inch%20balls%20using%20a%20rounded%20scoop%20or%20or%20teaspoons.%20%20Roll%20balls%20in%20sugar;%20place%20on%20ungreased%20cookie%20sheet%20lined%20with%20parchment%20paper%20or%20a%20silpat%20sheet.%20%20Bake%20at%20375%C2%B0%20F.%20for%208-10%20minutes.%20%20Remove%20the%20cookies%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20immediately%20top%20each%20cookie%20with%20a%20kiss,%20pressing%20down%20to%20secure%20the%20kiss.%20%20Cool%20the%20cookies%20on%20a%20cooling%20rack.%20%20Store%20the%20cookies%20flat%20after%20thoroughly%20cooled.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAccording%20to%20Colleen,%20she%20is%20obsessed%20with%20baking%20and%20blogging.%20%20After%20perusing%20her%20blog%20for%20a%20few%20days,%20I%20can%20attest%20to%20the%20fact%20that%20she%20loves%20to%20bake!%20%20There%20were%20so%20many%20dessert%20recipes%20on%20her%20blog%20that%20I%20was%20overwhelmed...thus%20the%20few%20days%20it%20took%20to%20zero%20in%20on%20that%20one%20special%20recipe%20to%20share.%20%20%20Stop%20by%20and%20say%20hello%20if%20you%20get%20a%20chance.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
