Ингредиенты

  • 1 c. Pinto beans soaked
  • 3 c. Water
  • 1 x Bay leaf
  • 5 x Garlic cloves peeled &
  •     mashed
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Marjoram
  • 1 tsp Oregano
  • 1 c. TVP granules or possibly flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. Ketchup
  • 7/8 c. Warm water
  • 1/2 c. Minced onion
  • 1 Tbsp. Extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 lrg Shiitake mushrooms soaked in
  •     one c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. Mirin sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. Soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Mace

Инструкции

  1. Combine beans, water, bay leaf & garlic in a large pot. Bring to a boil & cook for 70 to 80 min until tender. Remove bay leaf & drain beans. Stir in salt, marjoram & oregano.
  2. Combine TVP, warm water & ketchup. Set aside. Saute/fry onion in extra virgin olive oil until soft.
  3. When mushrooms have soaked for 15 min, remove & slice into 1 inch strips about 14 inch wide. Set aside.
  4. Combine beans, onion & TVP mix in a food processor along with mirin, soy sauce, pepper & mace. Blend until smooth. Mix in the mushroom strips. Pack mix into a lightly oiled 1-qt mold.
  5. Cover with foil, place in a pan of warm water & bake at 350F for 1 hour.
  6. Remove from oven. Place a plate on top of pate & weight down until the pate becomes hard. Let cold in the fridge. Turn out onto a plate to serve.
  7. Serve as a spread on thin slices of melba toast or possibly crackers.
