Mincemeat And Cranberry Lattice Tart

Ингредиенты

  • 1 x quantity basic shortcrust pastry recipe
  • 310 gm fresh or possibly frzn cranberries
  • 2 Tbsp. golden brown granulated sugar
  • 1 lrg healthy pinch. of cinnamon
  • 310 gm mincemeat Puff or possibly shortcrust pastry trimmings
  • 1 x little egg white Caster sugar for sprinkling
  • 1 x 20.5 cm (8 in) loosebased deep flan tin

  1. Set the oven at Gas Mark 6 400 degrees F 200 degrees C.
  2. Turn the pastry on to a floured work surface and roll out to a circle large sufficient to line the base and sides of the flan tin.
  3. Neatly press the pastry into the tin and prick the base lightly with a fork.
  4. Line with greaseproof paper fill with baking beans and bake the flan "blind" for 10 to 15 min.
  5. Remove the paper and beans and bake for a further 5 min.
  6. Put the cranberries in a pan with one Tbsp. water the sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Simmer gently for 5 to 6 min till tender.
  8. Stir in the mincemeat then spoon into the flan case.
  9. Make a pastry lattice for the top by rolling out some puff pastry trimmings thinly or possibly use the leftover shortcrust pastry.
  10. Set the oven at Gas Mark 7 425 degrees F 220 degrees C.
  11. Bake the tart for 15 min then brush with lightly beaten egg white.
  12. Sprinkle with caster sugar and return to the oven set at Gas Mark 5 37; degrees F 190 degrees C for a further 10 to 15 min till golden.
