- Combine 3 c. flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and soda. Heat liquids till very hot (120 to 130 degrees). Add in to dry mix; beat well. Stir in rest of flour (2 c.) to make a stiff batter. Spoon into 2 (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch pans which have been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise in hot place for 45 min. Microwave each loaf on high power for 6 1/2 min. Surface will be flat and pale. Let rest 5 min before removing from pan. Great toasted!
