.%20%E2%80%9CWhy%20are%20these%20called%20Mexican%20Street%20Fries?%E2%80%9D%20you%20may%20be%20asking.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHell,%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20know.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20research%20it%20(on%20Google),%20you%E2%80%99ll%20find%20that%20they%20are%20primarily%20found%20in%20San%20Diego.%20Apparently,%20they%20were%20originally%20carne%20asada%20fries%20sold%20in%20that%20area,%20but%20then%20ultimately%20branched%20out%20to%20these%20(around%20or%20about)%20seasoned%20hand%20cut%20fries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20happen%20to%20think%20that%20the%20name%20was%20pretty%20damn%20cool.%20Now,%20if%20you%20know%20me,%20you%E2%80%99re%20probably%20wondering%20why%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20put%20everything%20but%20the%20kitchen%20sink%20on%20top%20of%20these.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20can%E2%80%99t%20tell%20you%20any%20other%20reason%20than%20these%20were%20so%20damn%20good%20I%20just%20stopped%20here.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETrust%20me,%20I%20had%20plans.%20I%20ground%20half%20lean%20pork%20and%20half%20sirloin%20beef%20with%20plans%20to%20make%20kind%20of%20a%20poutine,%20but%20the%20fries%20were%20so%20good%20I%20decided%20to%20leave%20them%20alone.%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20making%20burgers%20this%20weekend%20with%20the%20beef%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20stand%20alone%20beautifully.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHowever%20%E2%80%93%20the%20sauce%20is%20exquisite,%20luscious,%20addictive.%20I%E2%80%99m%20so%20in%20love.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20both%20rock.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20sauce%20consists%20of%20Ranch%20dressing%20(I%20made%20mine%20homemade,%20but%20go%20ahead%20and%20use%20bottled%20for%20times%E2%80%99%20sake%20because%20it%20really%20won%E2%80%99t%20make%20a%20difference%20here%20unless%20you%E2%80%99re%20picky%20about%20your%20Ranch),%20jarred%20salsa%20verde,%20fresh%20lime%20juice%20and%20fresh%20cilantro.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20always%20had%20an%20affinity%20for%20salsa%20verde.%20Always%20%E2%80%93%20especially%20on%20beef%20burritos%20for%20some%20reason,%20and%20poured%20on%20top%20of%20really%20good%20refried%20beans%20dipped%20with%20tortilla%20chips.%20Now%20that%E2%80%A6THAT%20is%20perfection%20right%20there.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMake%20sure%20to%20taste%20the%20dipping%20sauce%20while%20your%20making%20it%20so%20you%20can%20add%20more%20of%20whatever%20suits%20you.%20You%20may%20want%20more%20lime%20juice%20or%20salsa%20verde,%20or%20maybe%20throw%20in%20a%20little%20more%20cilantro.%20Make%20it%20yours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBaked%20Mexican%20Street%20Fries%20with%20Cilantro%20Lime%20Salsa%20Verde%20Ranch%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Fries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20450.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20salt%20through%20flour%20and%20put%20in%20a%20sealed%20container.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrizzle%20the%20fries%20with%20olive%20oil%20and%202%20tbsp%20of%20seasoning,%20tossing%20with%20tongs%20to%20combine.%20Add%20more%20seasoning%20if%20needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20for%2025-30%20minutes,%20turning%20halfway%20through,%20until%20golden%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20Dipping%20Sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20all%20ingredients%20in%20a%20food%20processor,%20adding%20more%20of%20each%20ingredient%20if%20needed%20as%20you%20taste.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.1%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
